Experienced the worst service Iāve encountered in a while here today. Ordered brunch and coffees for 4 of us. After a half an hour when even the coffees hadnāt arrived, my friend asked about them, and only for the fact that we asked did the staff realise that our entire order had been ālostā, so we had to reorder everything. One of my friends had to leave in another half an hourās time and asked if she reordered now would the food be with us in time. She was told probably not, so she cancelled her food order and asked were there any items on the menu that would maybe come quicker - the waitress suggested toast, so she ordered that. After this we waited another 20 minutes just for the reordered coffees, and when they arrived mine was spilled all over the saucer, and one was missing, we had to ask for it again, and a further 2 times just for water for the table which weād asked for in our original order and our reorder. The brunches arrived a full HOUR after we sat down, again not everything was brought out together and one friend was waiting even longer. The āquickā toast arrived AFTER the brunches, and my friend had to leave before getting to eat it. The waitress apologised saying āthe kitchen is very smallā š¤·āāļø and gave us the coffees on the house which was a nice gesture but not enough really considering the appalling service. I feel for kitchens and waiting staff understaffed due to Covid but if they were too overwhelmed why accept us when we arrived? The food was actually good in the end but not worth it for the really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't vouch for the food, but as a Jewish person, I am offended by the cultural appropriation used by this restaurant for marketing purposes only when there is NOTHING Jewish about it! Only its name and that it happens to be located in a former old Jewish neighborhood. I visited here because the website said āInspired and located in the historic Jewish quarter of Cork City, we pride ourselves as a āNew York Meatpackingā style. I was hoping to have a taste of some food of my heritage. Nope, not one item on the menu. I am not orthodox, or even religious for that matter, but the use of photographs of Orthodox Jewish people on the website is insulting -- further, a menu filled with pork (orthodox Jews don't eat pork). At least do some research and have a few items of Jewish heritage here, beef brisket, stuffed cabbage, or a roast beef sandwich. I don't think the Hasidic people represented in the website photos would be too happy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here for brunch with friends, had a generously sized portion croque monsieur with pulled pork. Excellent sauce and great meat. My mate Claire ate something else, I think it was Salmon. Well either her or someone else had Salmon and the person that didn't have salmon was jealous because it looked amazing. Although it never came to blows, the Salmon jealousy incident was tense and we still don't talk about it now.
My other friend Cian was there too. He's a vegetarian and said there were the standard number of vegetarian options but what he had was very good! That's good recommendation as he is mad picky with his food (I once saw him swear at an egg).
I've never been here at night (I don't really get out at night much - I'm scared of vampires and the police!) so I can't comment on the night time ambience.
P.s when I say the police, I mean Sting's old band. Not the guards,...
