I booked this well in advance of the date as I heard a lot of hype about Sophies. I expected a lot of hen parties and groups of girls on nights out. Our table was allocated for 1 hour and 45 minutes and my expectations were not high, but actually it was really nice! The service was the best aspect of our visit. Fabulous service in all areas both on the ground floor on arrival and the 6th floor at the restaurant itself. The food was prepared quickly, and orders were what we expected mostly. Pizzas are a big success. Two of us ordered fish and one cheese platter. All the cocktails were great and there is a good selection available. Yes, there were at least 2 hen parties there and possibly a stag, but it's so spacious that it didn't matter. The atmosphere was good and it was well staffed so service made a difference. In the end, we stayed on and we were not rushed out. Would definitely return.

We made a reservation at Sophie’s for our 10th anniversary as we heard only positive things about this place from our friends. When we arrived we were a bit early wich did not prove to be an issue of the head desk and we were quickly escorted to a table, here was the first disappointment. The table was cramed in a corner next to the staff computers against the support beam of the building, we did not have any view of the city like the place is well know for, we also were not able to experience the beautiful ambiance of the restaurant itself either because all we could see was the metal beam next to the table, the table was also so small we barely had enough room to fit the food. It felt extremely claustrophobic . We asked for a different table, however non were available. We decided to stay anyway because the food on the other tables looked stunning. We ordered the antipasti as a starter, a pizza margarita for my wife, the chicken Casarecce for my self, the garlic bread and truffle fries. The starter arrived shortly after ordering and it was Amazing! It was a shame that the cheeses and meat were on the same plate because the flavors mixed a bit, but disregarding that, the selection was amazing, tasty and generous! We did not have a long wait after finishing the starter for the main course to arrive, my dish looked amazing visibly however after the first bite, it tasted good but it had a slight burnt taste, upon the next bite I was overwhelmed by the burnt taste, I noticed that the casarecce was completely burnt and the chicken was charred too, the garlic bread tasted sour, as if they baked a wonderful fresh bread but then used the pre-minced garlic from Aldi that is pickled in vinegar, the bread was so sour it was not enjoyable. The truffle mayo fries were unfortunately soggy and drenched in mayo. We needed up sharing my wife’s pizza (which tasted absolutely perfect) and decided to have desert somewhere else due to the disappointment on our anerversary. The waitress asked if everything was alright and I pointed out the problems with the dishes, she then said she will get the manager, 30min later the manager arrived (probably buisy) That being said, the staff was extremely friendly, and they did offer to replace the dishes we were not happy with witch we did not accept because I lost my appetite and my wife was satisfied with her food. Instead they offered to remove the items we were not happy with off the bill entirely. It was our first visit at sophys, and even tho overall it was a big disappointment tonight, I truly beleave that we were just unlucky with the food. Atmosphere at our table specifically - 1 star The food, 2 stars (I think we were just unlucky) The service & managment 10/10 perfect. Conclusion: we will definitly give it another try in the future as I beleave in second chances and I genuinely think our bad experience is not the general experience at sophys. Will update this review if we go again.

Initially very impressed with the hotel lobby and bar. Good service and nice cocktails. Up to Sophie’s Rooftop restaurant and again impressed with the views, the ambiance and the layout. Got a lovely view from our table and were ready for some excellent food. Menu looked good and the prices suggested top end dining. Unfortunately that’s where the great evening ended. Bland Pork Belly with an overpowering sauce and uninspiring roasted baby potatoes. Chicken and pasta that could have been bought cold in a deli and reheated. We saw some pizzas pass us and they looked fab. Shouldn’t have to play it safe when you are paying top dollar in a fantastic setting. Work on the menu guys and serve food deserving of the crazy high prices. Service ok but unenthusiastic.

We just had our 10th Wedding Anniversary dinner here. I have to say the food was delicious & the portion size was great too. Discovered an absolutely fantastic red wine here called Le Rouge La Coste. A serious recommendation. Staff great & plentiful. If I had to nitpick I would have to say that the fact that the staff are not in a uniform takes away from the high end that this restaurant is clearly going for. Music a little on the loud side & there's no need for dance music in a restaurant at 6pm or at anytime for that matter imo. The salt shaker is pretty poor too again for the high end that they are going for. Overall a cool restaurant for an occasion or if you were entertaining. I wouldn't be heading here on a regular basis though if I'm honest.

I wouldn’t normally write a review, however this was quite a disappointing meal. Both my boyfriend and I ordered steaks, both medium rare. One steak was served well done and the other was medium. This was confusing as surely if they were cooked at the same time they should be cooked to the same level of doneness, also neither steaks were as we had ordered. Both steaks were visibly burnt on the outside and as a result the taste was negatively affected. Neither of us would be inclined to complain however we decided if we were asked how the meal was at any stage we would relay our complaints. No one asked how the food was at any point, only if we wanted drinks on one occasion. The steaks were €45, I would say very overpriced for what we received.
