A very bad experience, got charged extra and when I clarified the price Lily got defensive and started acting bizarrely. I paid for my take away order but my appetite died while she was making offensive comments over a soya sauce and accusing me that I was wanting free soya sauce. Since she knew I was a doctor she was threatening to spoil my reputation around. I told her that I will leave and don’t wish to take the food, she threatened to call the gardai and I had to beg her not to do so. I was quite panicked at the time and wasn’t thinking right and told her that I have paid for my food but her insulting behaviour had put me off. I couldn’t understand why was she threatening to call the guards. She was very rude and I told her that she shouldn’t behave in such a way to a customer. She continued to threaten me, I left without my food. I went to the gardai and reported her. The Gardai came to Shangri La to investigate this matter but Lily was already hiding. The other counter staff lied that she didn’t know Lily’s whereabouts. The Gardai were supportive and confronted Lily’s behaviour for threatening to call the guards on me for no reason. Moral of the story, don’t be afraid for something you’ve not done wrong and always fight for your rights, here I didn’t allow her to overcharge me, and she was guilty and embarrassed therefore she acted out like a crazy woman. Despite being a regular customer since 2019, I was treated this way .Shame on Lily.l will be reporting this to the consumer service and definitely escalate this matter further and probably sue her for her...
Read moreThis weekend, we drove from Dublin to Letterkenny for the rally and found this Shangrila Chinese restaurant on Google. The unique decor caught our eye as soon as we walked in. For starters, we ordered Salt and Pepper Tofu, Barbecued Ribs, and Salt Chilli Chicken. The main courses included Classic Amber Fried Chicken, King Prawns Pad Thai Noodles, and a Duck Hot Pot. I’m quite picky about food, but when the dishes arrived and I took the first bite, I instantly tasted something special—the authentic Chinese flavors were in the rich sauces and ingredients, showing the chef’s superb cooking skills. Every dish was made with fresh ingredients, creating delicious flavors.
I asked the server to introduce me to the chef to shake his hand and say thanks. Though the chef didn’t understand much English, the server helped translate. I learned he has 28 years of cooking experience, working in famous hotels in Beijing, China, and Singapore. No wonder the Chinese food here is so authentic—it’s a sign of his professional expertise. If you’re passing through Letterkenny, do give it a try! The staff are super friendly, and the high-end decor is hard to find even in Dublin. The whole dining experience was very enjoyable.
To the owner and staff: May everything go well for you, and keep sharing this delicious food! Thank you so much for the amazing...
Read moreOrdered sushi tonight for take away. To say that I am disappointed is far too nice, I am literally disgusted. 130€ worth of sushi and two portions of dumplings. Was meant to have a portion of wakame seaweed but it was not in the bag when I have arrived home.. ordered two portions of philadelphia, california one as well, two rainbow roll , and two other rolls, everything was the exact same, looked the same and tasted the same. I was given four portions of California roll with crab stick, avocado, cucumber and rice that was falling apart, definitely not sushi rice. The dumplings, gyoza, doughy but quiet okay. I am not a specialist in food here, but sushi, this is a joke in life of sushi, this place should stop making them, and charge freaking 18.90€ per some portions… ridiculous. I am okay to spend the money, especially today was a deeply important occasion, fully ruined… 130€ to waste totally. This though was the only place that made sushi in Letterkenny, Burnfoot and...
