Gracie's Bar Sligo — Restaurant in County Sligo

Service was terrible, manager was too concerned about writing a review from a regular customers account to pay any attention to me waiting at the bar for 3/4 mins. Got her attention and she couldn’t have been more disinterested in serving me. Wandered around to look for “her staff” couldn’t find them finally asked me what I would like, asked for 2 hot whiskeys, she didn’t even bother putting the cloves in - so I asked if she had cloves, she immediately said no and then a few seconds later said actually here you go and then we had to fish out our lemons and add our own cloves…. For the price of the drink and the fact I had to add the cloves myself AND the general rudeness of the manager - 1 star - whiskey was good...

Maybe it’s because I just don’t know Irish restaurant etiquette but the waitress never came back after delivering food. We did not see her anywhere in the bar again. Needed to get up and ask for waters, drink refills, had to chase someone else down to get our bill. Table next to us had the same issue.

Food was just ok. I’m no stranger to basic bar food but was overall flavorless. Only redeeming factor was the large portions.

Bathroom was bad, you could tell it smelled awful before you got off the restaurant floor. All 3 women’s stalls had paper all over the floors, fluids of questionable origins on the seats and sticky ground. I held it until we got back to the hotel.

Shocking service. The staff member dropped a miserable plate of lifeless chips to our table without a sight of ketchup or salt. When I mentioned this she said she would come back but guess what.. never came backl. Left with an overpriced plate of miserable chips. I asked the manager to sort it out who was very nice. Thank you to her for her professionalism and replaced the chips with a fresh portion and all the condiments and cutlery to go with it. Thank you for that.
