One of the top in Dublin, very consistent with quality throughout the years, we keep coming back! They have new small dishes in the menu, and we wanted to try several of them sharing between the two of us, tapas-style. The waiter was very accommodating and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The mushroom parfait had a velvety consistency and an intense flavour, it came covered with pickled shimeji which gives the dish a sharpness that cuts through the richness of the parfait, which has a foie-gras-like consistency and mouthfeel. It comes with 3 slices of flame-toasted sourdough to slather it on. It was the star of the meal for me! The lobster arancini had perfect flavour, creamy inside and crispy outside. The rib agnolotti were sumptuous but a bit on the salty side that day. Tuna crudo was great, as well as the creamy squash risotto. The lamb a la plancha had a great texture and flavour from the grill, with an intense and refreshing gremolata. We had a privileged view of the pass and the spatchcock chicken and the gambas looked amazing as they served them, we will come back to try them! The basque cheesecake is a must.

Update: I have lowered the rating from 5 to 3 stars due to issues with the food. I have said below that their steak was perfect. But I spoke too soon. I had a bad steak there that was sent back and still came back with 2 temp above asked. I got soggy fries and the table next door sent back their burger. So this place just became a 50/50. Not always good. Here is my initial review: This place is great. They were perfect from beginning to end. I have been there a few times and they never failed to impress. The food is impeccable and made very well. I had one of the best steaks in town there and I am very picky with my steak. I ordered it medium which most restaurant just can’t seem to get it right and they cooked it to perfection. I love the cauliflower side and their drink are phenomenal. They have a great selection of wine, specially by the glass. And finally I was really impressed with the staff. They are a bunch of very nice Italians who are certainly trained in hospitality. I was there on a full house and the staff made the experience several steps above expected. Well done guys. I wish I had found you before.

Fairly awful to be honest. The chicken wings offered a fairly interesting (not in the good way) sauce that fell somewhere between teriyaki and bbq. The blue cheese was the nicest thing on offer here. The venison starter was smoked to high hell and offered little in flavour past the mouthful of smoke. The fillet main was passable, it was cooked as requested and the meat itself was nice. However, the venison main was extremely disappointing. It was underseasoned and bland. The meat was charred to a nauseating degree. No care went into the preparation as all flavour from such a beautiful meat was lost before it reached our table. We had a strange reappearance of the sauce from the wings for some reason, along with a fairly large amount of sweet potato puree, which was the only enjoyable thing on the plate. A five euro side of brussel sprouts and bacon included a handful of barely cooked sprouts, with burnt exteriors and the smallest serving of bacon possible. Truly disappointed. The whole set up is trying too hard to be a fine dining experience, and offers very little of the actual experience.

I have been here a couple of times. My first visit was positive, the Domenico steak was cook medium rare and it came as expected, pink on the inside and full of color on the outside, no signs of overcooking so we were Gladly impressed, normally the only way I can get a properly cooked steak is if I do it at home.

So my wife and I decided to give it another go. Ordered pretty much the same thing. This time we noticed a couple of changes, the bread came with some sort of smoked butter, which we didn't like at all, although the bread was very good we felt the butter was an experiment gone wrong.

Now time for my Domenico. Asked again for a medium rare steak and warned the waiter to make sure it is properly cooked and that I didn't want a raw steak.

The steak came and as soon as I touched it I knew it was undercooked, I wouldn't even say it was rare. It was burnt on the outside and as expected raw inside, raw and most importantly cold. The outside tasted like coal, but, even if undercooked the steak was chewy, not what i would have expected for a 35 euro dish. And far from what I got the last time.

Now, for those who might say that it is hard to cook a steak as thick as this one this is not true. This is a common misconception. You can cook medium rare in 8 minutes or in 2 hours without burning the steak. If you ever go to a restaurant where they have to cut your steak in half to cook it you are in the wrong place. In their favor they did cook the perfect steak 2 months ago when I first visit so I know they can do it.

Won't be going back, for 35 euro I can do much much better at home. That steak was not what I would have expected in a place like this. Maybe I was...

So myself and the wife went for a meal out together after about 6 months. We have 3 children, 13, 16 and 18 so good to find time out and as you can understand any money spent on food must be value for money. Well first of all my wife had a Pino Grigio and I had a Malbec Argentinian. Perfect tempreture and very smooth wine. Good start. My wife ordered a vegatable Rossoto and I ordered a medium rare steak. My wife got hers first and I had a taste. It was smooth and creamy with no grainy taste. Perfecto. My steak was overdone and ended up medium. I spoke to Borna a waiter from Croatia and asked him, "Do you think this is medium rare or medium?". I was so pleased to see he called it out straight away, rather than tell a porky and expect me put up with it. He replied, "No, that looks medium to me". He took it away and Laia from Spain was the perfect hostess saying the chef said he'll have another one ready in 10 minutes. In the meantime, my wife got a small top-up of wine as an appreciation for waiting. I was so impressed with Borna and Laia. They understand what good service is. I had been doing silver service for many years as a young fella myself. Anyway, Chef cooked me up another steak and I have to say it was succulent and best steak I've had in a long time. Worth every penny. My wife was really happy as I am incredibly fussy about my food as I cook alot a home. I would just like to thank Chef, Borna and Laia for making our night so special. Great food, great value and great service....

Birthday celebration,

Change of attitude started once I requested for the menu to be changed to the al carte menu.

The manager was unprofessional. My dinner guest was rushed. I was not aware that we were not allowed to take pictures? when I clearly stated beforehand it was a birthday dinner.

Middle of taking pictures, one of the waiters brought it to our attention that the other table has arrived which we apologised for and proceed to take our seats.

A drink was spilled on me from the waiter leaning over me and to lie that dry cleaning was offered is absolutely absurd as I would have not declined the offer. The waiter apologised and the manager was nowhere to be seen except when rushing our table.

My birthday cake was brought with candles but I couldn’t even cut the birthday cake, no plates were brought, I wasn’t even aware and asked for the plates. The manager came to me said and said it wasn’t possible.

Yes, some guests were late, however, we could have ordered the food on their behalf if needed.

To say that we were disruptive, nobody came up to us, (or me the celebrant). Including the manager to say this, there was also another group of people right behind us. (For context our group was a group of 12 people).

I will not be recommended this “high-end” restaurant at all, I was treated horribly on my birthday, what a horrible experience to look back on.

It’s not always what you do for people, but people will remember how you...
