The dinner menu food was bad. The Padron Peppers and Burrata dish was actually a big bowl of heated up chopped tomatoes most likely straight from a tin. A small buratta ball with few raw cherry tomatoes were thrown in. The dish was completed with 4 tiny raw green peppers, which were sort of grilled but completely raw inside. Nothing like pimientos de padron should be. The main course was a large helping of overcooked soft and extremely salty pasta with industrially made pesto (not a hint of fresh basil at all) served in a cold bowl so the dish became cold quite fast making it even less appetising. A goat cheese pizza had burned bottom but it was underbaked and soggy because of excessive amount of tomato sauce applied. Moreover it was very sweet due to jammy sweet berries scattered across the top (they were not caramelised onion, but definitely berry skins and jammy flesh all over pizza making it sickly sweet). The service was friendly and extremely polite but lack of professional training was quite obvious. The staff kept apologising for everything what was going not quite right. But it's the food that was the main disappointment.

Review for Hidden By One Society I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant today (Saturday, 24/08/2025, around 14:00). When I arrived, all the staff seemed busy, which I can understand. I looked around for a sign saying “please wait to be seated” but couldn’t find one. I went to the bar and politely said, “Good afternoon, how are you? Table for 2?” One staff member simply pointed toward the entrance. Since the restaurant was empty, I assumed he meant we could sit at one of the tables. After a few minutes, the same staff member came over and, in a very loud and unpleasant tone, told me I should have waited by the door. I apologised and explained that I thought he had told us to sit there. His response was: “No, but next time you wait at the door until somebody gets you a table.” I was left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable, so I left and will not be returning. While I can see many others have had good experiences here, mine was disappointing and unwelcoming.

I truly enjoyed my brunch at Hidden. It it wasn't for a few aspects on the periphery I would have given a full 5 as final score. My eggs with chorizo and hummus were very tasty. Not surprising considering that there was chorizo involved but still, I have been in plenty o places where they was not enough. I am told that the açai bowl was very nice and for sure their spiced chai latte was delicious. The brunch menu is fairly limited, with a large presence of pancakes. It's a big shame that 2 of the dishes that were not pancake were not available even if it was Saturday at 1pm and the place was still at 30% capacity. I also didn't like that they initially gave us a table definitely too small even if we had booked for 6 people. Luckily they managed to accommodate our request to add a small table and that made everything very comfortable. I am looking forward to go back there as the pizza I have seen in the pictures looks extreme well done!

Was there this morning for breakfast - Two adults and two children (12 &13).

After reading the reviews and seeing the menu, we were looking forward to it, but on the whole it was disappointing.

We arrived at 10:00am an were seated quickly. We ordered after about 10 minutes, when we ordered our coffees and tea, which came about 10 minutes later, but it was 10:45 before our food arrived and the drinks were long since finished.

I ordered another as the coffee was very good, but the rest of the table are not as carefree with their caffeine intake, so they had the breakfast without a drink in the end, except for a little water.

We ordered Eggs Your Way (fine but no salsa or side and with two pieces of toast - Very basic), a Mini Breakfast (fine although bacon quite bland), but the other two meals were disappointing.

I may not have paid attention when I ordered Shakshuka as I was asked if I wanted an egg in it? I said yes as I presumed poached eggs would be included as a rule, but instead I got a fried egg on top of the shakshuka, which seemed to lack any eggs and was charged an additional €2.50 for the pleasure. The sauce itself was ok but unexciting and lacked spice, but the basic recipe contains eggs and €18.40 for this was extremely disappointing.

One of the children ordered American Pancakes and he was essentially the reason with went there, as he loves pancakes and is an enthusiastic young chef himself. He said they were very dry and the bicarbonate soda was very evident, both visibly and in the disappointing taste. Visually they looked impressive, but it is the first time he has left the majority of his pancakes at any restaurant we have been to in Dublin.

All in all the bill was €72.55 before a tip, which we provided anyway, but unfortunately, we will not return and we had originally thought about going there for...

I visited Hidden last weekend for the second time, and what a visit it was! My first time was just as great, it was busier, since they had just opened, but this one was truly impeccable.

Back when we lived in Summerhill, we were loyal customers of One Society, we would be there for breakfast and dinner as often as we could. So, obviously, we had to return to Hidden last Saturday morning.

I ordered a peppermint tea and the hangover stack with extra maple syrup. The pancakes were perfect, fluffy, airy, so light that I didn’t feel bad or stuffed after finishing the entire plate. The flavors worked amazingly well, the Tabasco sauce + maple syrup combo… Wow! I KNOW that if I would’ve been actually hungover, then pancakes would’ve been the ultimate cure and hit the spot.

Service was just as impressive. Honestly, even if the food wasn’t great (which it was!!), the staff alone would make this a 5/5 place. They’re warm, attentive, and always offer you a smile. Our server (who I believe was Brazilian) was fantastic! I wish I had caught his name to give him a shoutout, but if you were working the morning of February 1st, keep doing what you do. Your attitude truly makes a difference in customer’s day!

My boyfriend had the special of the day, which i believe were eggs Benedict with chorizo on sourdough. He cleaned off the plate in no time, so I think it’s safe to say he loved it!

The owner is just as involved and welcoming, he comes up to all the tables to make sure we are all having such a lovely time, it speaks volumes about him as a leader and person. It’s always great to see him so present in both Hidden and One Society. So fair play to him!

Safe to say, we’ll be coming back every...

The staff were very kind. I booked reservation online for 4:15pm. We arrived on time and were seated, there was a lot of staff chatting but there weren't any customers. We ordered drinks which I think they forgot to serve. We then ordered food and drinks again. The waiter had hilariously bad small talk and asked us awkwardly if we were going to the cinema, which was funny. The drinks arrived but the food took an hour and a half to arrive. When my meal arrived it was not what I ordered but there was no way I was willing to complain after such a long wait in case they wanted to take my food away because I was really hungry. We ate our food which was delicious but it was very salty. I then paid and the machine asked for a tip ☠️, which I paid. When we were leaving the staff were begging for us to return again soon to try and make us feel welcome. I am now lying awake in bed since 4am because my sympathetic nervous system is activated from all the salt causing a fight or flight response. My suggestions for improvement would be (1) update the website for dinner time to start at 5 if the kitchen is closed (2) write down people's orders so they don't get the wrong food (3) remember to deliver the drinks to the table (4) reduce the salt (5) remove items from the menu if you don't serve it (6) don't leave customers waiting for an hour and half without dinner. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews at all especially when the staff are very kind but this feedback is honest and for their...
