- Fresh Yolk sandwich (two fried eggs with avocado, feta cheese, chilli flakes, rocket & dijionnaise on toasted brioche) - Hash browns I'm gonna be honest - I heard about this place when they opened in The Fourth Corner, and while I kept note of them since then due to my undying love of eggs, I always deviated from trying them as I didn't quite understand how one could make egg sandwiches good enough to dine out on. Since I've been making an effort to try places I've yet to go to these days, I finally decided to give them a go since I was in Smithfield anyway. I don't know how, but they really do manage to make an egg sandwich a proper thing to crave and feast on. The toasted brioche was pillow soft, with the gentlest of crunch, that melded into that eggy unctuousness from runny yolked fried eggs. Goats cheese and chilli mashed avocado, along with the dijonnaise, gave different bursts of flavours that didn't puncture the rich softness of buttery, yolky goodness - meaning that each messy bite gives you different moreish facets to a spectrum of tender, tooth sinking layers. The hashbrowns felt like grown up versions of the frozen ones you get from the supermarket or from fast food. Salty, carby sweetness with a full-bodied crunch thanks to the distinct shred of potato.

If you’re looking for the perfect breakfast in Dublin, this little gem in Smithfield is a must-visit. Their fried eggs on fluffy brioche bread are absolutely spot-on – simple, fresh, and packed with flavour. The balance of crisp edges on the eggs with the buttery softness of the brioche makes it one of the best breakfast plates I’ve had in the city. The service is warm and genuinely friendly, making you feel welcome from the moment you step in. You can tell the team cares about both the food and the atmosphere. The location in Smithfield is ideal – easy to get to, with plenty of charm around the square. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a relaxed solo breakfast, a catch-up with friends, or even a quick pit stop before exploring the city. As a bonus, the coffee is excellent – smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. Pairing it with their breakfast dishes is a winning combo. All in all, this restaurant is a true breakfast haven in Dublin. Great food, great people, and a great spot. I’ll definitely be coming back!

A great new restaurant recently opened located beside the Tower in Smithfield. We visited the Mad Yolks on recommendation of friends who were absolutely obsessed by the food were not disappointed. We visited on the Saturday of St Patrick's weekend & were delighted to be able to get a seat. I ordered the Mad Yolk which consisted of scrambled eggs, caramelised onions, applewood cheddar, chilli, rocket & sriracha mayo with an americani coffee. Yum Yum. My friend had the bacon classic with halloumi fries. The staff were sooo friendly & more than happy to give advice about the menu & make changes to the order to make sure that our food was perfect. Whilst the menu is small it allows the chef to make sure that the food is perfect. This place is definitely for fans of quality food. For me the best surprise was when we were leaving & I met a couple sitting just inside the door with the cutest labrador pup... THIS PLACE IS DOGGIE FREINDLY!!! Definitely a big plus for me, I just have to get my fella back ul to Dublin.
