We visited Slatterys on a busy, humid, muggy Saturday early afternoon recently. We ordered the full Irish breakfast…not our first time to order. It was as delicious as usual, but noted the portion size is a little smaller. But we still had plenty. We were upstairs, it was extremely busy and crowded. The reason for my review is to highly commend the two ladies who were working that humid, muggy, busy Saturday…namely Ella and Ellie. I hope these two ladies are fully appreciated for what they do as I observed how between them they managed the whole upper floor on their own. From taking orders, to serving food and drinks, clearing tables and checking from time to time to make sure all customers were ok. One very small example to the level of detail and how hardworking they are to follow: Ella served us our little container of condiments…she noticed the ketchup was missing and informed us she would get us some more as she needs to get some from stock elsewhere . Our food arrived in nice time, and because the girls were so busy, I made my way to another table to get the ketchup from there. After about 10 minutes Ella arrived back and apologised that she’d only just got the chance to get us the ketchup. It was no problem to us anyway, we were already sorted. Probably about half hour after this when things had quietened down a bit, I overheard Ellie call out to Ella ‘did you get the ketchup ok!!’. Now this is what I call excellent teamwork, communication and excellent customer service. Ellie behind the bar, Ella covering the floor…the heat, the noise, the crowd…yet both extremely pleasant and unflustered given the circumstances. Thank you so much Ella and Ellie for a lovely experience in Slatterys that Saturday, we’ll be back!! I truly hope you are both valued for the contribution you bring to...

I ate Slattery‘s bar. The other night food was delicious. Service was good atmosphere was good. All was well. I went again tonight. Service was OK for a bit until they serviced steak sandwich. We sent it back. It came back like rubber. We tried eating it cutting it with a knife, even though it was the sandwich and we spit out all of the grizzle, when the waitress came, I said please tell the chef this is the worst steak I have ever eaten she said sorry and I said the chips we will take away well. The bartender Sean came over with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, which rubbed me the wrong way he said I don’t care if you don’t like it you wait most of it. I said no we spit most in the dish. He said well you should’ve send it back. Said it was disgusting and I can’t eat in this damn place and walk out Was the most rude individual I haven’t entirely in my life met. I’m in a foreign country. You should at least try to treat your guest with respect and I said to him as an American I would not act this way. He did rub me the wrong way I did get angry words with said, but I’m telling you I’ve never encounter anything so obnoxious as Sean the bartender , I would never go...

Located on Dublin's Capel Street, Slattery's in one of few remaining early houses, and is only a short walk from the city's many transport arteries. Ultimately it is a pub so the fare is mostly uncomplicated roasts, breakfasts and good hearty sandwiches. That said each dish is made with skill and enthusiasm. My partner and I went for the early breakfasts, I ordered the humble scrambled eggs on sour dough toast, and she the full Irish. For a simple dish, the scrambled eggs where light and fluffy if not a touch over done to my personal preference (as most eateries are) . My partners full Irish was generous, very well cooked and perfectly steaming as she likes it to be. The eggs were absolutely as ordered and the coffee unburnt... which seems to be a miracle in the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, if not by appearances a little under pressure. It was nice to be able to have our breakfast outside, especially since the bar itself seems to be clinging onto that dark and moody "classic" pub decor.

It's a good sturdy breakfast with no surprises, excellent value and good "what you need food" . We...

Slattery's Bar on Capel Street was what I expected in an authentic Dublin pub. The atmosphere is rich with history, and you can feel the character and buzz the moment you walk in. It's no surprise that this place is loved by locals and has been frequented by some of Ireland's music and movie legends over the years. We explored the second-floor bar, where there’s a room showcasing the names of famous bands that have played at Slattery’s. This pub was a key social hub for Ireland’s music scene in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and it’s easy to see why. Our group ordered several beers and a full dinner, and the staff took excellent care of our dietary requirements. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a good pub—hearty and satisfying, and food quality was reasonable for a pub environment. The service was incredibly friendly, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The amusing quotes on the walls added a fun and quirky touch, making it feel like a true Dublin gem. If you’re looking for an authentic and lively bar experience in Dublin, Slattery’s is a solid choice.

I am by no means a connoisseur, but I do know a good(a bad, or average) pint of Guinness. Last week I stumbled across this great pub. First of all the relaxed friendly atmosphere was apparent as soon as I entered. Lovely traditional layout inside, with bar staff who actually smile. Options for sitting outside (sheltered) for those who prefer. So I ordered a pint of the black stuff, and noticed possibly 6 or 7 sat aside whilst settling. * I would say that it did take a little longer than 'the usual' to receive mine..but boy was it worth the wait. Hands down the BEST pint of Guinness I have ever had, and do note that some years ago, I had done the tour at St James's Gate & sampled a pint in their elevated bar(what a view of City btw) post-tour. In fact, I enjoyed my pint here SO MUCH, I have re-booked another short stay in Dublin for middle of next week. Cannot wait to spend another evening in the Fantastic Slattery's 🍺. * Great things come to those who wait 🖤!

If you're looking for a welcoming spot to enjoy some good food and drinks, especially a Guinness, Slattery's Pub is a fantastic choice! Every time we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome that made us feel right at home. The attentive bar and waiting staff always ensured we had everything we needed, enhancing our overall experience. The atmosphere is truly friendly and fun, making it a great place to unwind. Plus, the prices are fair, allowing us to indulge without breaking the bank. We couldn't get enough of the tasty nachos and buffalo chicken wings—definitely a must-try! For breakfast lovers, their Irish breakfast is very nice, and the steak sandwich with gravy is super tasty On top of that, Slattery's often features live acts and has a big screen TV for sports, adding to the lively vibe. If you haven't already, make sure to visit Slattery's Pub for a delightful experience!
