The Indian guy from Tadka House spoke very rudely on the phone today. I had ordered via Uber Eats and the order didn't arrive. When it was over 1 hour, I got a message from Uber asking if I received the order. I went ahead and clicked no, the app directed me to call the restaurant as the Uber team wasn’t responsible for this delivery, and that the delivery would be done with the Tadka House team itself. Hence, I called the restaurant several times and there was no reply. So I contacted Uber and they tried calling the restaurant as well but there was no response from the Tadka House team. Since we waited for over an hour, Uber said that the delivery may or may not come, as there was no response from Tadka House. So since there was no choice left and we were unsure of the delivery, I decided to cancel the order. When the cancellation was complete, I got a call from the restaurant asking for my home address for delivery. I guess they planned to deliver without Uber involved! This is a very common tactic in INDIA to avoid paying Uber shares. So I didn't want to go against Uber rules and I informed the guy over the phone that the order was cancelled, the guy got furious and kept yelling at me and said that I changed my mind about the order. I was shocked by the behaviour! Why would I wait more than an hour and tip extra for delivery if I was planning to change my mind? I was running low on sugar and I needed food urgently. I patiently waited for over an hour and their restaurant didn’t even bother to respond nor Uber app give an update since the delivery was by the Tadka house team. I had no choice but to cancel the order. When they called me, Tadka House didn't even bother to apologise! Instead, he spoke rudely to me over the phone and banged the call on me midway during the conversation. Please stop hiring people who have no manners and can't even speak on the phone! Rude!!! Absolutely rude! The guy who called his phone number...

I have long been a customer of tadka house now but I feel something's changed in recent months as the quality I used to get is now nowhere near.
We ordered Jaipuri Lal Maas from Rathmines Branch and just for the record we've ordered it before as well from same branch. While I understand that the website description says "Extra Spicy', that doesn't mean the dish needs to be full of red chillis that one can't eat.
We 2 can't eat half of the portion due to extreme level of spice and with whatever we ate, we regret it now as it had upset the stomach for both.
Just so you're aware that I'm pretty accustomed of eating spicy food but this one was above all levels and very dangerous for the health.
Worst part, they don't even reply of compliant I did, so I had to post it here to...

Food arrived swimming in oil (I guess this is what makes up their whopping calorie count). What makes even less sense is the very mild flavour curry can have with so much fat in it! We ordered a beef xacuti and the tazi sabzian for a main and a prawn tandoori jinga for a starter. Despite the disappointing mains, the prawn starter was actually pretty good (4 prawns with an attempt at a side salad). Unfortunately the naan that came was tough and chewy (maybe it wasn’t fresh, maybe it was out for delivery for too long). But i guess i burned some extra calories that way :P
Wouldn’t order from here again and still on the lookout for a decent...
