Really disappointing experience. I rarely leave bad reviews and am much more likely to share positive experiences but my meal here was particularly bad. I booked this place for a special occasion brunch after researching and reading great reviews. The first thing I saw when I came up the stairs was a bizarre tree mural made of duct tape which was an instant bad impression. Our party was not seated so we just stood around waiting to be approached. The host eventually moved an elderly man out of the seats we were meant to be in but it was done in a way that made everyone quite uncomfortable. We then genuinely waited about 30 minutes for someone to bring us water despite asking multiple times. Is this not the first thing that's normally done when you seat someone in a restaurant? One of our party actually wanted to run out to a grocery store on shop street to buy water because it was so ridiculous. We eventually ordered about 20 minutes after we arrived. My meal took longer than everyone else's and when it came out the scrambled eggs were almost raw and swimming in water. I politely sent them back and when they came back out the eggs looked as though someone had taken a blowtorch to them. They were crispy on the outside and still undercooked inside. So I had to send them back a second time. By the time the food came out edible we were in a hurry to travel back to Dublin. I also waited almost an hour for a coffee and genuinely asked 6 times including getting up from my table to ask why it still hadn't been brought over. We brought this up with the manager, again politely, and barely an apology was received. She said the reason we received such poor service was because we were late. It's true we were 15 minutes late which of course we should not have been but we were traveling with a disabled older woman and getting her in and out of taxis and up the staircase to the restaurant wasn't easy. I don't understand how us being late threw off our entire dining experience by that much. Despite this, the manager offered us nothing whatsoever by way of apology. Not even taking the coffee off the bill. Absolute joke and terrible practice for a business. We were a party of 10 so our bill wasn't small. To top it all off, one of the women announced there was a hair (chest or arms hopefully) in her food. She was too embarrassed to bring it up until after we left the restaurant. Would not return. Can get over the fact that service was slow and food wasn't good but the poor handling of our complaint would turn me off going there ot the...
Read moreI dined here yesterday with my boyfriend and friend and the service was nothing short of appalling. I’d say I would have gotten better service at a buffet. When we got up to the restaurant we were greated by a lovely girl on her break and we asked here if we could sit outside she said that’s no problem as they were open to outside eating and if we just stood over by the till one the waitresses would seat us.
So we did just that only to be ignored by several waitresses, when finally one approached and told us we couldn’t sit outside. Slightly disheartened but no grounds for a bad review. We sat down and there was 6 other tables and a waitress for each table. A bad sign when your customers is outweighed by the staff. We were barely sat a minute when an unenthusiastic waitress came up and asked us I asked if we could have just one minute more as we were still deciding she rudely said ya sure
We were waiting 13 minutes to order and when we did it was a cold exchange. When the food came to the table I was shocked. I had paid €15 for 3 goujons and a few chips and the other 3 quarters of my place was a monstrous “side salad”
Again we had to wait ages for the bill and then again we were eating for someone to bring the card machine as we had seen the staff do to other tables but after 15 minutes I decided it was enough and went to pay. She asked how everything was and I said it was fine. I’m a waitress in a 5 star hotel and if someone told me their experience was fine I would ask what was wrong with it but the girl did not care and was quick to send us off
We also witnessed two tables have to get up and ask to order because the staff were too busy having a chat and I heard the waitress that served us say to her coworkers “ oh I forgot we had a job for a second “ quite honestly the worst service I’ve ever seen will not...
Read moreCame here in the afternoon, they were a little busy. Host/waitress said it should be a 10-15 min wait so we asked if we could come back within the time and get the table. She said yes so we left and checked out some shops and came back upstairs in 10 mins exactly and got a table no problem. We ordered two of the BLTC Ciabatta, Kickin Chicken and Bacon Melt, Chai Latte, and the soup of the day which was a Creamy Vegetable. After ordering the waitress came back to sadly inform us that the BLTC was unavailable. Bummer! So two of us had to reorder, the new order was Spiced Chicken Goujons, and Cajun Chicken Burger. The Chai Latte was exceptional, amazing flavor, highly recommend. The Kickin Chicken melt was very good. The chicken was moist, bacon was crisp, and the bread was toasted to perfection. Don't sleep on the side salad, it was dressed perfectly and delicious. The Chicken Goujons were kinda bland and had a very then coating on them, no real spice. They were cooked well and not dry. The dipping sauce had the spice and went well with them. Now the chicken sandwich was the best I believe. It had it all, chicken was cooked perfectly, everything worked together and made a delicious, spicy, and slightly sloppy sandwich. Definitely recommend. The soup and brown bread, it was okay nothing to rave about. Overall service was great, good atmosphere, lots of desserts to choose from and an awesome chicken sandwich,...
