I was a regular here for over a year and always enjoyed the atmosphere. However, a couple of months ago I had an unpleasant experience with one of the bartenders, the bearded one whose attitude toward me was unnecessarily rude and condescending. There was a misunderstanding in how I came across, which I take responsibility for, but his reaction was completely out of order, even after I apologized.

I understand bar work can be stressful, but no customer, especially a regular, deserves to be spoken to that way. It genuinely ruined my night. I’ve since read other reviews that describe similar experiences with this staff member, so it seems I’m not alone.

The food is excellent and the music selection is fantastic on busy nights, but none of that makes up for the way I was treated. I won’t be coming back, and I would advise others to be cautious when ordering from him if you don’t want to be spoken down to or made...

It's been nearly 20 years since I last stopped into this pub. I was excited about the prospect of a Duvel with a hot dog or beef tacos. I got the beer, and there is a nice selection on offer reminiscent of Caribou's beer menu, but the food menu is strictly vegetarian only. We split the toasted cheese sambo and the spuds which were okay but greasy and so unhealthy it's a laugh it's vegie. I could only have a quarter the cheese sambo because it was so greasy and rich. The austere, canteen-lile backless seating and harsh lights were fine for a couple of hours but were not a cozy place for a night out. Bierhaus feels pretentious,a place to be seen not enjoyed, and unwelcoming to non-hipsters. It will be another 20 years before we...

This is a cozy and hipstery place and they have a big selection of stouts and beers. However the reason for the bad review is because i used to be a regular here but sadly I won’t be coming back as the owner was extremely rude and disrespectful to a friend of mine. Last night my friend asked for water for the table before we got drinks, and the owner, instead of simply asking us to buy something, yelled at him for not buying anything and got extremely argumentative, initiating that my friend was cheap even after he offered to give him a tenner for 4 waters. We’ve spent plenty of money here in the past, I think the situation was handled extremely unprofessionally and we don’t want to be treated like animals.

What an amazing place. Their tap list was varied and well chosen. The two guys behind the bar were epic. There was no food concession on when we visited but we were recommended a local pizza place to get a take out and eat with our beer which was also amazing. Also got some brilliant brewery tips; where to go and where to buy. Massive shame we are so far away from this place as it is somewhere I would be happy to go several times a week. If you are looking for some fantastic decent beers then this is the place for you. Also aware I have to put the word craft in the review so it comes up o searches. 24 draft beers on when we visited and loads more in bottles or cans. Make sure you have a whole night free!

I stopped off at Bierhaus for a quick pint while on my way elsewhere. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers they had on hand, and gave me a solid recommendation. I wish we had more pubs like this back home in California. I recommend stopping by Bierhaus if you're ever in Galway.
