I recently visited Taylors bar, hoping for a pleasant experience as a tourist in the area, but unfortunately, I left feeling quite disappointed. From the moment I ordered my drink, the service was far from welcoming.
The person who served me not only lacked any sense of hospitality but also made an unnecessary comment about the price of my drink, suggesting there was a cheaper option. This made me feel uncomfortable and judged for my choice. To make matters worse, the server was more focused on chatting with the girl at the bar than on providing quality service. This lack of attention made me feel like an afterthought rather than a valued customer.
As someone who was looking forward to enjoying the local atmosphere, this experience was a real letdown. I hope the management takes steps to improve the service and train their staff to be more attentive and welcoming, especially to tourists who come to enjoy what the area...
Read moreMyself and some friends were down in Galway for a night out recently. A friend of mine recommended Taylor’s as it was a Monday and the quiz was on. Fortunately we had a good time during the quiz, coming second and winning a €75 tab, however, afterwards when we tried to order drinks and a bartender by the name of mark Dooley gave us our jäger bombs but all the measures of jägers were different and quite small somehow after using the bottle measures. When we questioned him about it he asked do we want a refund on the voucher and we agreed but then he walked away and ignored us from there on out. We also noticed that his general demeanour and attitude towards customers in general was very rude and not welcoming at all. So we took the drinks but overall we were very disappointed with the service and advise that mark does not work here any more as he favours serving women of any age over any man even if he was at...
Read moreTaylor's bar is by far one of the best pubs in Galway. It really felt as though we'd unearthed a hidden gem when my friends and I first visited it. We'd been living in the city for some time and had been looking for a place to become our regular haunt, and we found it. Not only does it have a great ambience and delicious selection of cocktails and whiskey, but it is also such an iconic cultural and historical spot. It dates back to the 1800's and has been the stomping ground for a number of artists and musicians over the years. It also has one of the oldest and best beer gardens in the city. I'm honestly surprised it's not completely overrun with tourists. Basically, this is the perfect spot if you want to really experience the charm of Galway and a few pints in a place with a lot of story and...
