Every time I go to the Creamery Cafe, the service seems to get a little worse. On one occasion, I was sitting outside, i had a buggy and it was too awkward to come in with so I ran in quick to give the waiter my order of a coffee, explained I had a buggy outside and he told me I would have to order at the till. I asked him again if I could just give him my order as I had a little baby in a buggy outside. Eventually in a passive aggressive manner he took my order of a coffee which took nearly 20 mins to come to me, it was busy but not busy enough for a coffee to take 20 mins to make. On the second occasion I came with my friend we ordered two fruit scones. We were assured they were fruit twice but they had no fruit in them what so ever, we asked them to be heated and had to send them back twice as they were still cold. And on the third occasion I was here I ordered the veggie breakfast. I felt it was blanned and not worth €10.45. The eggs did not come with the breakfast. I told the waiter , kitchen said they would send the eggs out. After 20 minutes they had not brought out the eggs and so I decided to leave. Having said that when the waiter told me he would bring the eggs out I said no it was fine and to leave it but they assured me they would bring them out anyway. Maybe this got lost in translation and they thought I didn't want them anymore? I will give them the benefit of the doubt there. I was refunded a €1. I am by no means a picky customer and I'm very easy going but refunding me a euro made it look like I was making a fuss over nothing. Maybe offering a takeaway pastry or coffee would have been a better way to deal with the situation. I have worked as a waitress for almost 8 years and so I know the job can be very demanding when busy but general customer service and training are the basics of the hospitality industry which do not seem to be valued at this cafe at all. The interior is gorgeous and the coffee is lovely but because the customer service is just not up to standard i will not be returning or...
Read moreI visited The Creamery on Sunday as part of a party of 8. All was well initially until the point of the order starting arriving.
We had ordered the following:
4 x Kids Goujons + chips 1 x Burger meal 1 x Goats cheese salad 1 x Falafal wrap 1 x Eggs Benedict with added Bacon 1 x Tea 1 decaf Coffee 1 x flat white coffee
What did not arrive:
2 x Kids Goujons (missing 2) 1 falafal salad (not the wrap as ordered) 1 x eggs meal did (but no bacon) No tea 1 regular coffee (not decaf)
That just from 1 order! Needless to say with hungry children and the 20 minute wait for half of the meals to be corrected did not go down too well. When the order was placed, a minute of 2 later the bill was left down on the table and then when we went to pay we were advised that 'we must have added to our order'. We never added anything other than our initial order and the bill had increased over €20.
Now at this point you would have expected some form of apology for the large amount of errors with our orders and long delay but no I was met with aggression and told 'There was no complaints when I dropped over the kids meals'. The fact is though I had already spoken with 2 members of staff and raised my disappointment of our whole customer experience.
I paid the bill in full and left with a very bad taste in my mouth. I have worked in service for many years and fully understand the importance of
A good customer experience Repeat business A competitive offering Well trained staff
Needles to say 3 of the 4 were not met and needless to say I will take my future business to other Salthill...

Visited The Creamery in Salthill with my family, and it was a lovely experience. The location is perfect. Right on the promenade with beautiful views of Galway Bay. It’s a great place to stop after a walk along the seafront, whether you’re in the mood for a sweet treat or just want to relax with a coffee.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, it’s bright and clean with a cosy café feel. The music was soft and cheerful, adding to the relaxed vibe without overpowering conversation.
Service was friendly and quick. The staff were polite and helpful, and even though it was busy, everything felt well-managed. We didn’t have to wait long, and the team seemed genuinely happy to be there.
The ice cream was delicious. Creamy, fresh, and full of flavour. They had a nice variety of options, including vegan choices, which is a great touch. It’s clear they put care into their ingredients and presentation.
Overall, The Creamery is a great little spot in Salthill. Whether you’re with family, friends, or just enjoying some solo time by the sea, it’s worth a visit for the views, the treats, and the...
