My husband and I were looking forward to dining at Freddy’s. The staff were great - professional, accommodating and very pleasant. We also liked the atmosphere.

However the reason for the 3 stars is the food. We had the Tian of crab and duck salad to start, the honey glazed pork belly as our mains and the cheese board to end. Aside from the inclusion of the Fivemiletown goats cheese which was a master stroke, the rest of the food was decidedly bland. Not bad by any stretch but average. The individual components of the Tian or Crab didn’t pop at all and so nothing (including the crab) didn’t taste of anything. The pork belly missed the punch of honey and whist didn’t need additional salt, we had to add some just to be able to taste something.

Sadly, it felt like the chef has given up innovating, isn’t sourcing ingredients well or is trying to appeal to a too broader audience. We’d love to try this restaurant again in a year to see if things have improved.

Prices weren’t too bad but too high for...

The food was divine, the table service was top-notch, and the wine selection was good. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and elegant.

However, due to an unfortunate restaurant policy and inadequate communication capabilities, the evening was marred by being told that “[you’re not worth our time” upon arrival. (€75.50 bill) The restaurant doesn’t take tables of one. When my guest canceled, I followed the restaurant policy and texted the number provided, but the restaurant informed me they didn’t receive it. I was seated but understandably allotted only an hour of the two-hour reservation.

A monitored email address would be preferable and more reliable since it would notify if the message couldn’t be delivered.

Additionally, the table of one policy seems a bit inappropriate considering they’ll seat other tables of three or five; empty seats are empty seats.

Such a wonderful restaurant and opportunity for dining experience damaged by a breakdown in electronic communication and...

My cousin and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, wine and service last night. I am vegan, when I reserved our table, I mentioned this and the vegan menu was brought to the table without having to ask. The choices were good and when the food arrived it looked really colourful and appetising. My cousin (the carnivor) was impressed by the presentation. The food was really tasty. The service was excellent and, although there are time limits in place due to COVID, we didn’t feel rushed and we could really appreciate and enjoy the dining experience. My cousin who is French and loved both his food and wine, and said it was the best place he has eaten since arriving in Limerick. Thank you Freddy’s we look forward to returning soon, compliments to the chef and to the front of house for...

My husband and I were visiting from United States. We had a great experience at Freddy’s. They were very accommodating to changing our reservation time when we were running behind. The dining room had a cozy feel to it. The food was excellent. We had the steak and chicken with potatoes and both were delicious. The only thing we were not thrilled about was the crab appetizer, it tasted more like tuna fish mixed with mayonnaise. However, we are used to getting very fresh local crab from where we live. For dessert we had the nutty Irishman martini and WOW it was delicious!! We would definitely recommend others to visit Freddy’s for the food, drink, ambience, and friendly staff.

Nice restaurant in an old coach house. With high TripAdvisor ratings, they only provide set menus for two or three courses. For is plentiful, service is generally OK. And wine selection is also ok. There was no opening bread or nibbles to get starting prior to eating. They don't have too many other types of drinks, which makes it hard for the individuals who don't drink wine. However, if you have dietary requirements, it is good to call in advance so that they can make the right food for you. Overall, some room for improvement for already good place.

Upscale restaurant offering a unique flavourful menu and will not disappoint. Being a solo diner i always feel unwelcome despite being a paying customer but here they offer a unique experience with cosy ambience and a welcoming environment. I had the mussels and it was one of the best i ever had, it was fresh and soft. Cannot give 5 stars due to the server who asked me twice if i am finished with my mains, it was annoying since i was enjoying the food and resting a while. I cannot devour the mains in a matter of minutes…
