I found this place on the Happy Cow App. This place is right on the water and is gorgeous on the inside. The restaurant is modern and high end with a large bar, tea area, garden dining room, and plenty of room for all sizes of groups. At this time of night (8:45pm) and this time of year (autumn - October) I didn't need a reservation and I was seated quickly. I had a late dinner here and I was so happy they had clearly marked vegan options. Some items had Vegan in the name and others had the VG symbol. The legend at the bottom of the menu said VG = vegan. I had the Vietnamese Spring Rolls to start and I had the vegan loaded salad for my main course. The spring rolls were large and had a really yummy dipping sauce. The salad that comes with the rolls was not my favorite because it had that slimy seaweed that to me is a texture and flavor nightmare. It is slimy, chewy, and tastes heavily of fish. I always find that unpleasant so I didn't finish the little side salad. The Vegans Loaded salad was perfect all around. The falafel balls were perfect. They are lightly fried and are moist and didn't feel overly heavy. The hummus was really creamy and I enjoyed the flavor quite a bit. The pita bread was soft and easy to tear for dipping in the hummus. There were also roasted carrots in the salad that were perfectly flavored and sweet. I highly recommend getting this salad. Sometimes it feels like salad is the cop out for restaurants for vegan food. But this salad is done right. It isn't iceberg lettuce and some horrible dressing. It actually felt like a meal and I felt good having so many fresh vegetables to eat. Sometimes I get really tired of vegan burgers so it was nice to have a hearty option that tasted really good. I also had a mocktail (non alcoholic cocktail) called Amor that was lovely. It was floral and very clean tasting. I would get that again. For dessert I had a peppermint tea which was lovely and strong. I would come here again and try their vegan breakfast in the future.
Pros: Easily marked vegan options, Amazing vegan salad, Large portions
Cons: Seaweed in...
Read moreDidnt expect to eat here but I was in need of a trip to the bathroom but since i was using the toilet I might as well try out the salad and Im trying to loose a few pounds i had put on due to an illness. Anyway getting back to my rant. Im not dressed in the best im afraid tracks and a top and yes I got tattoos. The second I enter the Bar Area im approached by a manager asking was i ok abit rude but how's ever, I ask for a particular salad and she just snapped we dont do that then picked up a menu and said a table for one. Absolutely no manner brought me to a table and sat me and placed the menu on the table. Walked away.. I sat here waiting for her to return but she didnt Then she cames back to show another man to his table He is dressed shirt and tie and she is all smiles with in 89 seconds she places a bottle of water in front of him " where was mine" oh well , A very pleasant young lady did come eventually and took my order she was smiley extremely friendly and looks like she enjoys her job. I gave my order then got my water just a bit late but was welcomed its a hot day, I ordered my Chefs Salads and waited as i was hungry. I asked what sauce come with it the young server did not know but she did say it was new to the menu so i waited and my salad arrived. Looked great bits of boiled egg and bacon looked tasty. But it was far from the salad was just dry not a bit of sauce I asked the for some sauce as it was dry and tasteless the server brought me the tiniest little bowl of thick brown paste like sauce. I tried to eat the salad but i couldn't i actually felt embarrassed to ask for more sauce so i just left it. The young server saw I didnt eat it and asked to exchange it for me but i felt awkward drank my water and paid and left. Not saying all food is bad there just saying if the chef cant put a salad together then ops. Front manager staff needs to be nicer and treat customers like they are welcomed. Even in trackies and...
Read moreThe worst experience I've had in Limerick was with some racist individuals. It happened on my birthday when, at the entrance, a girl pulled my bag, claiming I hadn't paid to enter. All my friends were already inside, and I was waiting for another friend and I realised she is goona take some more time I walked in, and the girl pull my bag... I complied and paid, but I politely advised her not to pull anyone's bag as it's disrespectful. In response, she informed the bouncer that I shouldn't be allowed in. My friend inquired about the issue because the girl didn't want to talk to me and later accused me of cursing her, which I hadn't done. It was shocking to me that she would make such an accusation just because of my appearance and accent. This incident broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes, completely ruining my birthday night. She claimed I used inappropriate language, which is untrue. I'm a respectful adult who values treating everyone with respect. I never expected such an incident to occur on my birthday; I was in a joyous mood. I tried to explain the situation to the bouncer, who insisted I should have paid. I clarified that I was simply following my friends and I thought they paid for me. In the end, I couldn't determine whether the issue was about cursing (which I didn't do) or the payment, but all I had said to the girl was that pulling someone's bag is disrespectful. It was an unpleasant encounter with rude and disrespectful people that left me heartbroken. I'm not afraid to speak the truth about such a trivial matter. A racist and uneducated girl at the gate was happened to be educated by me and her useless ego got hurt and accused me that I cursed her, I wouldn't recommend this...
