Well the building and quality of construction is second to none. Magnificent gardens, a real surprise and an oasis off Slippery Lane Wexford. It is a credit to whoever put so much of themselves into this property. The food, however, was disappointing. I have respect for cafe’s who offer a limited menu, however, when the menu is limited, the dishes need to be delivered perfectly, ours were not. I was so disappointed, because when I saw the premises, my expectations were high. The staff need to be trained properly, simple laughing when I pointed out there was an item of food missing from my order, is not good service. No desert menu either, pity! Put some money into menu development and staff training, it will be worth it!

Went here on a recommendation, what a recommendation it was. Upon entering you can see the beautiful gardens. A hidden gem of Wexford they are for a start. Had the roast beef sandwich, which was a special for the day. The meat was so succulent it just melted in the mouth. The sauce and veg server with it was fantastic. Also had the Chicken Korma burger. This was a great piece of locally sourced chicken in a lovely batter and brioche bun with homemade pickles. The korma sauce was as good as I’ve had in some Asian kitchens in London. One of the nicest meals I’ve had in Wexford in a long time. Will be back again.

As soon as you enter the cafe, it is a delight to the eyes. The decor and ambience is so beautiful. The outside seating area is amazing, with the different plants. Aesthetic wise, this is the place to be. Unfortunately, the food could have been better. The lunch menu is limited, which was written on a black board. We ordered the Chicken Melt sandwich and vegetarian savoury pastry, with Mozzarella and tomatoes on a base of pesto sauce. There was no listing of any food allergens on the menu.

My recent visit to Harpur Eleven Bistro left much to be desired. I hope this feedback helps improve the overall customer experience:

Cold Wait Outside: Upon arrival, my wife, her friend, and our children were left waiting outside in the cold for approximately 10 minutes. Despite their visible discomfort, no effort was made to accommodate them during this time. Lack of Acknowledgment: The lady at the window saw them but did not acknowledge their presence. It was disheartening, especially considering the weather conditions and the fact that they had young children with them. Inconsistent Service: When my wife’s friend finally entered the café to request service, she was told that orders could not be taken from the window. This contradicted our previous experience, as we had purchased coffee from the same window before. Concerns About Bias: I sincerely hope that the staff’s behavior was due to oversight or laziness rather than any discriminatory reasons. My wife’s race should not impact the level of service...

Credit to whomever designed & landscaped the garden area because it truly is wonderful, however that's the only highlight of this restaurant.

2nd time eating here and it was very disappointing. Plating skills are severely lacking, ordered a cream cheese bagel with salmon and the plate was drenched in oil, so much so I had to wipe it myself with a napkin and even then it was still drowned in oil. Bagel was stale and totally inedible, cream cheese was barely passable. On top of this there was no waiter around for me to ask for help so I had to bring my plate to the front desk myself to get some help. My partner ordered pancakes and they were partially raw. Totally unacceptable. It seems to me that a lot of effort went into making this place look just right, unfortunately nowhere near as much effort went into creating the menu or training the staff. Hopefully some of these things can be addressed in the future as there is...
