Holy Grails' new look and location is outstanding. Smaller than the old location, but its size doesn't outweigh its quality. For me, Indian cuisine can be touch and go, but it has been many years since I've had a Rogan Josh that really had me craving more once I was done. The lamb in the curry was mouth melting, with the spices only complementing every bite. The Tempura chicken was cooked to perfection, flavoured perfectly and the right portion for the right price. To finish off, I had to try a dessert, and this was a tall order for me due to a dairy intolerance, but the chef went above and beyond to give me a soft, sweet and warmed chocolate brownie, bursting with flavour, and to add the side of sliced strawberries which we all know goes great with chocolate. From start to finish, the service was impeccable, but I kept looking around as the door opened again, and again. Person after person came in to grab a take away, and now there's nothing wrong with that, but my table was the only one who sat to order. This to me is sad, as everyone is really missing out on a great late lunch, or early dinner that will leave you satisfied, and walking out of there with a smile. If you haven't been, or remember the Holy Grail of old, you need to go, sit down, and enjoy the delight that is their new location, new look, and fantastic food. Compliments to the chefs and waitresses for a great meal. 5 Stars thoroughly deserved, and I really hope to see more tables full on...
Read moreIgnoring Boil Water Notice is not ok!!Last Saturday evening. My son asked for a glass of cordial, he drank it as soon as he got it. The nice waiter then brought a jug of water to the table. I asked "Is that tap water?" I was told "It's been safe to drink tap water in Wexford since yesterday". I ask for still water please. I'm told there is none. Only sparkling. Ok can I have sparkling thanks. I ask could I see where the manager found this information? Because yesterday's papers clearly said the ban wouldn't be lifted until 'maybe' next week. 20 minutes later, all jugs of water are removed from all tables (restaurant was full of families with babies, toddlers, etc.), getting replaced by bottled still water. I want to speak to the manager. Now. Another waiter comes to my table with a pen looking for my phone number since the owner, the chef is to busy to talk to me. After some convincing, she accepts that I will wait. He comes out 20 minutes later, saying he "had googled it, sorry for the misunderstanding. You can have a free meal". Ridiculous carry on. You sir have put in danger many families' health this weekend, including my child's, and offend me still? I let my children finish their meal, paid in full, and will...
Read moreBooked for a group of us as I had been to the one in new ross which is lovely. Walked in to the door to an awful waitress can I help you. I said I have a booking and she mumbled over there. We sat down when we figured out what she was saying and then out comes the waiter who was full of smiles (not) We waited 35 minutes on food. There was only 5 of us and it was not that busy. He then handed me the hot plate for me to pass to the person beside me and I had to ask him could he walk around as the plate was to hot (unbelievable) we had the food and went to pay and they had no 5c pieces and that was it no apology. Waitress and waiter will defiantly close that place down. My advice would be to ring in your order before you sit down and bring a glove to receive your food. Oh and wear your duffle coat because you will...
