My very first experience of this place was shocking. The sushi was stale and the tempura squid was soggy, I tried to contact them to complain they didn't answer the phone or a Facebook messenger message.
So I didn't order from them again for a long time.
When I went back again, all was great, the food quality was excellent. I was ordering from them very regularly (almost weekly for a few months), but the last two times I ordered Just Eat gave me a delivery time, which was exceeded by over half an hour each time, and when I called the restaurant they told me that they had just started making it, because they were busy. On a Tuesday.
Had they been busy, they should have given a different delivery time, not marked it down as delivered before they claim to have started making it.
I called the restaurant, told them this wasn't good enough and said I wanted a credit to be hung up on. I was forced to call Just Eat. They called the restaurant, the restaurant said it was leaving there and then. It took another 20 mins to arrive. I live within a 20 minute WALK from the restaurant. A car journey takes 5 minutes max.
I don't know what the hell was going on there, but I ordered raw sushi. That doesn't take an hour and a half to prepare, even if you're cooking the rice from scratch, and Tuesday isn't a busy night, anywhere.
So, while the food is (now) good, the service is abysmal and trying to get some form of good will from the restaurant after their appalling service is seemingly impossible. Any other restaurants would offer the credit automatically and wouldn't need to have it said to them, never mind hang up on you for asking for one. In fact, when I was hung up on, the person on the phone had said they were going to cancel the order altogether, I had to ask just eat to confirm whether I'd be getting the food at all.
I can't give any more stars given that I've now had three instances of the worst customer service I have ever encountered from...
Read moreAmazingly good sushi! Freshest sashimi we've tasted in Ireland (the raw salmon is divine), perfectly cooked tempura prawns, gyoza, agedashi tofu and edamame beans. And all of it beautifully served in wooden boats with the right condiments. Having moved from Singapore almost two years ago, I missed having good sushi you didn't have to pay through your nose for (and easily found in every mall there). Nothing wrong with the supermarket variety here but smoked salmon doesn't have the same sweetness fresh sashimi has. The sushi here is reasonably priced, fresh and varied enough for those who do not like raw fish. My kids loved their avocado and cucumber versions. I wish we had the space to try the other dishes that evening, like the ramen, but we'll definitely be returning next time we're in Wicklow/Dublin (we live in North Cork!). The restaurant looks like it's family run and they're a lovely, friendly lot. Sorry no pics as we were too busy...
Read moreI went for dinner with my son tonight and we both ordered our food and drinks. I was surprised that my son got his food and drink and I got my drink but no food. When I asked, the waiter said I didn’t order. I politely asked if he didn’t remember me ordering the yakisoba and he said he didn’t hear me ordering. His voice was louder then mine. No apologies, nothing. He only said. “You want the yakisoba, it’s coming now!” When we left the restaurant, we didn’t hear the usual “thank you, have a good evening”. Absolutely rudeness. I understand how stressful it is to work in a restaurant, so I let it go. I put my head down and left, but it ruined my night and I decided to write...
