I was watching what Waterlilies was doing on Instagram. After two questions and 1 comments I made, they banned from their page. I think they put themselves on a high level, pretending they use local/Irish/organic food. When I questioned them about the origin of their Heirloom tomatoes they never answered me. Most of those tomatoes come from Holland and are heavily sprayed with pesticides, so if they can source them locally, this would be nice to promote the producer and in the same time show their honesty about products they use. I questioned them about the layers of butter and dough in their croissants that they pretending they have, I never got an answer. My last comment was about the dirt of their grill, if you decide to go on social media you have to be careful what you show and what you said. Use a dirty grill like this is a lack of respect for their customers and for their own food they produce. Considering all this, I don't know if you can trust this business when they pretend the origin, the supplier and quality of their products and the way they produce all you can buy...
Read moreI was looking forward to trying Waterlillies as my friend is local and loves going there! However when we went in, the service was seriously lacking, I felt like they were just avoiding us for the most part and we had to ask twice for a menu. We ordered coffee at the counter and asked again for a menu. When we got the menu, we asked was the bread vegan and the server said she didn’t know but they had gluten free bread. I explained gluten free is not the same as vegan, and at this point I was very concerned she wasn’t trained regarding allergens on the menu. After some back and forth regarding this, she then went to the kitchen to ask regarding vegan options and returned saying nothing on the menu was vegan. Which was quite literally not true but we didn’t argue. On the menu, allergens are listed as numbers but they didn’t have the list to refer to we just left once we had our coffee. The coffee was nice though, plant based milks...
Read moreQuaint little coffee shop on tullow Street in carlow, called in this morning with my daughter, ordered 2 coffees, scone and the poached eggs on sourdough toast, coffee arrived after 10mins.
The chap with the beard that took the order has absolutely no customer service training, no pleasantries, quite rude really, another 10-15 mins passed and I called up to see where poached eggs were and he told me abruptly they were not ready, then he ran upstairs and guess what.... arrived back down with my order, which was now cold... returned to counter and asked for refund...
What I did taste was delicious but cold.... no apology.. no comment, nothing from him. Just dropped money onto table and left..
This review is based on customer service, not on the quality of the coffee or food...
