Pennyfeather Cafe — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Kilkenny City

This place is grim. Me and three friends went and every single one of our meals was gross to some capacity. I got the hot honey chicken tenders, and the tenders were absolutely SOAKED in honey to the point you couldn’t taste anything else. There was also zero spice so not sure why the word “hot” is in the title. Also, the little sauce packets on the tables were super old and super gone off. We tried some mayo and it was insanely sour. So so gross.

Also, the place is filthy… the upholstery was covered in stains and scuff marks it was so gross 😭😭 I’ve only heard good things about this place, but clearly those good reviews were from people who have never been to another cafe in Kilkenny. Soooo...

I would happily review the food if my order hadn't been forgotten about. Even though the cafe was almost empty when I was seated and my order taken, it was seemingly lost in the kitchen. What's also irksome is that over the next 30 minutes or so, nobody noticed or cared that I had been sitting at my table for ages with nothing in front of me. Everybody else who'd come in afterwards got their food. It isn't as if it's a particularly large café or that the staff were being rushed off their feet at the time. where to begin… as I have lived in Kilkenny my whole life. Such a quaint and delightful city I am proud to call my home. I have been to every single cafe and establishment that serves beverages and items of consumption and in all of my days and and nights (some of them sleepless as I ponder the meaning of life), I can say with my hand on heart and my eyes full of hope, this cafe is nice. I was served by a sensational and easy going waitress. I felt that she was emotionally invested in my meal and my experience at the cafè.
