Such a bad experience - pls. never again. We should have read the comments here, so we would have been warned what to expect. It started with the cockroach on the door frame of the restaurant and two waiters and the owner / receptionist seeing but ignoring it. Those things can happen, ok, but you should do something about it immediately. We were told the table for us would be ready in 10 minutes and despite 2 tables being available as guests paid and left, they did not care to prepare the table for us. We decided to leave and told the waiter so, but he promised to prepare our table immediately- we should have known by then - it took them another 10 minutes. We finally were seated and got the menu and ordered two aperitifs straight away. Now things became really crazy. Another waiter took our choice of meals, wine and water. We reminded him of the two Aperol missing, but nothing happened. Instead a third waiter brought the wine and the water, but no aperitifs. A couple of minutes later the food arrived with the first waiter but still no Aperitifs. Than the third waiter finally brought them - and promised an ice bucket for the wine which already stood on the table and got warm. My pizza was soaking wet and starting to cut it I realized the egg whites were still raw. My friends pizzas topping consisted of warm tomato juice with a hint of oregano. We ordered a Pizza Margarita instead, which was delivered very fast - cheese, warm tomato juice, very soggy. We ordered the bill and neither the waiter nor the owner were interested in out comments about the worst quality pizza we ever had been presented with. As said at the beginning, we should have read the comments here before. We took the wine and are enjoying it on our little hotel balcony - a wonderful end to a dreadful experience. By the way - we had to pay in full, no sign of sorry...
Read moreWe had one dinner here. This restaurant is at the beautifull location - small city square in old historical part of the city close to the tables of restaurant Hepera. At 21:00 the place was really full and staff of the restaurant was in bit of chaos. We had to wait for the table for approximately 10/15 minutes which is still OK to me. Our waitress, was very friendly and professional even when I have the feeling that his colleagues lack skills (despite that they were friendly too) and they as the "group" were not organized too well - from the point of view me as the customer. We were waiting again for the menu a little bit longer I would prefer but the place was really full. We have ordered prosseco, fried squids, seafood risotto and spaghetii with fresh grilled tuna. Prosseco (I did not see the bottle) tasted as some cheaper frizzante version - really sour - thumbs down. Fried squids were fine as the apetitizer, we had them with the mayo and lemon juice. Bread was served with good extra virgin olive oil - same brand as they have in sorrounding Hopera restaurant. Seafood risotto was delicious with fresh seafood, nice tast, spagheti with fresh tuna were great too. Both of the portions could have a little bit more tuna/seafood but that is my personal preference. The dinner for 2 with prosecco cost me around 62€ which is I do believe normal in turistic summer region. We were satisfied with the taste and quality of the food, stars down are for waiting and little chaos in the staff of restaurant however they were friendly and fine. Thank you for the nice stay and atmosphere. We...
Read moreA True Neapolitan Gem in the Heart of Alghero – Bella Napoli
We just had an absolutely amazing dinner at Bella Napoli in Alghero, Sardinia, and it was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and the comforting aromas of a true Neapolitan kitchen.
I had the Margherita pizza, and it was everything a Neapolitan pizza should be — light, airy crust with that perfect char, simple yet rich tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fresh basil. A true classic, done to perfection.
We also had the spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino, and it was a masterpiece in simplicity — perfectly al dente pasta, balanced with just the right amount of garlic, oil, and chili. It was bold, elegant, and unmistakably Italian.
The atmosphere was relaxed yet full of life — the kind of place that invites you to savor every bite and every moment. Bella Napoli is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of authentic Italian cooking and culture.
If you’re anywhere near Alghero and appreciate real Italian food, do yourself a favor and dine here. We’ll be back tomorrow before we leave...
