La Cantina Frrud - Museo del Vino — Restaurant in Altamura

We went to the tasting thinking it would be great judging by the multiple reviews. It turned out to be more than great!! Paolo was extremely kind and eager to make us understand the authenticity of their wine. The visit of this museum was really interesting as it shows the ancient tools used in the wine making. But my favorite part is still the tasting A lot of cheese and specialty of the region such as focaccia are waiting to be tasted with their wine. The passion Paolo have is showed by all the explanation around the wine. Paolo also speaks fluently English in addition to Italian and did not hesitate to repeat everything in English for us. Finally, we really appreciated the fact that every one of our question was answered with precision, he even recommanded us places where to buy taralli or focaccia ! This was such a lovely experience. You can really see that this place is the lifeproject of the owners and they thought of every detail. I personally really liked the mix of very ancient tools and vibe with modern details and twists. Also the wine they produce is absolutely wonderful and they thought about it thoroughly. Must go when in Puglia! Visiting La Cantina Frrud was one of our Italy trip highlights. What a gem of a place! Paolo and Donato have impeccably restored this wine cellar that allows one to relive wine making years ago. Our children enjoyed the tour as much as we did and the tasting was fantastic.
