We had reserved a room with sea view and was given room 203 on the second floor. Our room was bright, clean & cosy. We had a large balcony facing the sea (at a distance) and we could watch the sunset from our balcony too. The bed was very comfortable, aircon was nice & cool (you can adjust the aircon temperature), there’s an in-room safe & mini fridge in our room as well. TV had many channels & complimentary wifi worked well in our room. Breakfast was simple but nice with pastries, cakes, cereals, ham, cheese, fruit juice and more. My tip is to go early as the breakfast room is in a pretty small area & can get packed. ||The best part I feel was the location. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the Anacapri bus stop & just next to the main taxi station (the one with the mini petrol station & the scooter rental). Anacapri town is less than 5 min away with souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants & a few mini grocery stores nearby. Bus to Capri is 10 minutes by bus. I like that the hotel is in Anacapri, which is a lot more peaceful & quieter than Capri which is a lot more crowded. Monte Solaro chairlift station is also near the hotel (5 minutes walk). Villa San Michelle is also nearby. Blue Grotto is a 15 minute bus ride away from Anacapri (the Blue Grotto bus station at Anacapri is located slightly further up after Anacapri bus stop. It’s not the same place where you take the bus from Anacapri to Capri or Marina Grande. Just follow the car/bus road after the grocery store and after maybe 200-300 metres, you will see the bigger bus terminal on the left with a bus going to Blue Grotto. ||We had some difficulty in locating the hotel so here’s some tips for you :|- We had arrived by hydrofoil. From Marina Grande, we took the public bus direct to Anacapri. (Buy your ticket from the counter before boarding €2 one way. It cost €2.50 if you buy from the bus driver). It took 15 minutes bus ride to Anacapri. Hold on tight as the bus sometimes goes fast along very winding/curvy roads. |- Once you reach Anacapri (the driver will shout out the stop so listen up for it), walk back along the same road to where the bus had passed by. Do not cross the road. You will see a pharmacy, a few shops & next, a big open space where taxi are parked. This is the taxi station. The hotel entrance is immediately after the taxi station. It’s quite a small gate with the hotel name on it so don’t miss it. Enter the gate & walk to the end of the road & you will see the hotel. Hope this is helpful! ||Thank you Maria for an amazing stay & the warm...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel on July 2006. The location of the hotel is great - we didn't like the city of Capri and the port area - they were both full of jetset people, awfully lots of crowd and over-priced shops and restaurants. Anacapri is a lovely, quite place from where you can easily go hiking for example. The restaurants are cheaper and there are far less people than in other parts of the island. Buses run often - it takes about 20 minutes to reach the port.||Loreley is a good budget hotel. If you are looking for something fancy you shouldn't stay here but if you are looking for reasonably priced accomodation and great location then this is your place. There was no air condition but it didn't bother us as the island of Capri is not that hot during the summertime as the continental Italy. Even though it might be hot during the daytime you might need a long-sleeved shirt in the evening - so the room wasn't too hot in the night and we were able to sleep well.||The rooms and the hotel are a bit worn and the toilet and the shower weren't great (it takes about 15 minutes before you can use the toilet again because the cistern is filling up so slowly and the shower didn't have much pressure and the water spreaded all over the bathroom after shower). Breakfast consisted of croissant, bread roll, juice and coffee/tea which was ok. The staff was friendly and will gladly help you if you have...
Read moreHave just returned from a 2 night stay at the Loreley hotel in Anacapri. My experience in summary:||Location: I'd have to say that this is the best reason for staying at the Loreley. Only a couple of minutes walk from Piazza Vittoria which is the main square in Anacapri. All the buses to/from Capri/ Marina Grande stop at this Piazza. The chair lift to Monte Solaro is also a minute away. Villa San Michelle about 6-7 minutes walk away. ||Rooms: Mine was very very basic but clean. It was a twin room. No view to speak of and the room was very dark so even during the day the lights had to be on. Ensuite shower/toilet was very small but pleny of hot water. Sheets were clean and extra blankets provided. ||Breakfast: Very very very basic!! For all you people from the UK - not a bacon/sausage/egg in sight! But I suppose breakfast isn't a big deal for the Italians! So expect a few pieces of white bread (not soft and warm!), a croissant, and butter and preserves. The coffee was excellent though. ||Staff were helpful but didn't find them overly effusive.||In summary, considering I was only in the hotel to sleep, it was fine. But if you want to relax in your hotel, then this isn't the hotel for you. Having said that, perhaps there are bettter rooms...
