59€only_and_pulpo_in_tempura ++ A TRUE MIRACLE IN AREZZO ** ENJOY + It is now the fifth year (2020 !) I am going to 3 bicchieri in Arezzo, and I must say that the place has - always - gained quality and attention with every visit. The restaurant is not very large, but the atmosphere both in the classical part and on the "Wintergarten" is pleasant. In May 2018, I went two times to the place, and a possible good choice, if you do not like to eat so much, is ordering two starters. My absolute favourite became "pulpo in tempura", a small dish, but of a quality which was worth (indeed !) of a two star Michelin restaurant. French People would speak about "extraordinary delicacy" ("delicatesse", in French, for sure), and there is nothing more to say about. And the pulpo is not the only dish which falls in such a category, as I discovered.
I was served by my now usual waiter, a young man with background from Asia, also with "delicatesse", and recommending delicious wine. And he is a person of a particular politeness, much estimated.
I ended up by having a very nice discussion with a local guest. Even with a glass of wine for him, the bill did not exceed 59_€, which as a symbol could form a kind of publicity for Tre Bicchieri at Arezzo. I was coming from Venezia and Firenze and went afterwards to Rome. Arezzo is a wonderful "Island" in between, like a pasture, and Tre Bicchieri is forming part of that pasture. Go to see the frescos of Piero della Francesco at the church and have some "pulpo in tempura" and a glass of wine (or two), and you will find yourself very close to an Italy worthwile to go. Then, even Berlusconi seems pale at TV. Pulpo !
NB : Came back in October 2018, March 2019 and February 2020. Had wonderful conversations at the restaurant with my local contact person. Delicious, again, and very forthcoming service. And we were greated by the so called "Grand Chef", he being an extraordinary person ! Walk on, please ! ++ Over 28.000 clicks on the pictures ++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
FROM record, useful , like Michelin : Very nice restaurant, offfering delicious food and a very forthcoming and agreeable service. It is not the first time that I was coming to Arezzo, but 3 bicchieri is now definitively one of the places to go to, be it for lunch (I came from the train station) or for dinner. The menu list is well thought, and already the second time I came back the waiter paid me quite particular attention, in a very polite way. Definitively, the chef has a hand for dishes which have a very tangible taste, really nice. You really feel on holiday, and the choice being offered is nice. And, compared to Firenze which is much more expensive, the prices at 3 bicchieri are "realistic" for purposes of Arrezzo, a good thing. A place to return to !
In May 2018, there was Arezzo in the morning fog, quite an event, as it can bee seen on the photographs. Very difficult to take pictures ! Another reason to go to Arezzo ! And I returned in October 2018, taking -then - some new pictures. Very quiet, and again, excellent food and service. And the "great chef" came to greet us, what a pleasure. +++ More photographs, some a little bit rough, added in 2019. Wonderful black-and-white film. Enjoy ! Arezzo will bring you back to Italy, for sure ! ++ Despite Corona, also, in 2020, enjoy the place. Wonderful Food, of sublime taste. ++ I will not make it in 2022, but for 2024 Arezzo is "on the list". I miss it. Indeed, and very much. Such a...
Read morePlease, don’t go there! I went to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my family. All meals were disgusting. We ordered a risotto (that one on the picture) which cames with raw shrimp, some kind of dirty water, a green sweet foam and other stuff we could not identify. We ordered more 3 meals and we couldn’t eat anything. All meals were soooo bad tasting!!! Staff wasn’t friendly. When I thought that tragic birthday night was over, my mom felt sick the whole night. Every time we pass in front of that restaurant,...
Read moreWhile in Arezzo, we spotted I 3 Bicchieri on our way up to Piazza Grande. We were glad we decided to stop in and try them out! We ordered the 6 course taster for 60 euros and a bottle of wine (about 25 euro). They also offered paired wine at an addtional 30 euro per person.
The meal started with a plate of 3 amuse bouche which were tasty! The 6 course dishes were seafood based and excellent! Fresh, nicely plated, beautiful taste and presentation. Service was excellent and we...
