La Battigia Ristorante is a fantastic spot for lunch in Bari, offering a delightful blend of classic Italian cuisine, warm service, and a scenic location.
Cuisine: The menu features a variety of traditional Italian dishes that are both flavorful and satisfying. The fried seafood was perfectly cooked, and the crème brûlée was an excellent way to end the meal.
Service: The staff was attentive and welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
Price: While the prices are slightly above the local average (by 1–3 euros), they feel justified given the quality of food, service, and ambiance.
Location: Conveniently situated just across the street from the bay, the restaurant provides a charming setting for a meal.
Recommendations: Due to its popularity, the restaurant can get quite crowded during peak hours, so it’s worth planning your visit accordingly.
P.S.: For a meal including fried seafood, an Aperol Spritz, a beef steak, crème brûlée, water, and coffee, I paid 58.5 euros—a fair price for the...
Read moreThe worst experience in Bari.
Avoid outside tables in summer, they are placed in somewhat a glass cubes, where it is too hot to sit. We booked a table in advance, but had to suffer there anyway.
The staff was arrogant and offensive, they spread an awful vibe . For example, they criticized us for our choice of dishes. Then didn’t pour a drink in a glasses. We were waiting for a first dish for 40 minutes, and then all the meals arrived at once, both pasta and appetizers.
In the end they shortchanged us. We took one appetizer for €13, but in the bill there was a double-appetizer for €18x2=36. Meanwhile, there was nothing special in dishes.
I strongly recommend to avoid this place. La Battigia is trying to be a fancy-restaurant, without knowing that this begins not only with a...

We kindly asked for sit outside seeing 3 empty tables outdoors, with the reply that they are fully booked. These tables did not get filled during our stay at the restaurant. It was unpleasant feeling having loud noices and not properly be able to speak with your own party. Especially when you can see the "fully-booked" empty seats.
The server didn't bother himself to give recommendation nor suggestions. We got a QR code to scan to get the menu.
The food was good and delicious.
The service itself either seemed to ignore our table or just forgot about us. The had to beg for the bill after being sitting for 10 minutes. Overall it...
