La Staffa Enoteca — Restaurant in Bari

Before we arrived in Bari we had browsed Instagram and found La Staffa to be a present superpower. As we love natural wines we knew we had to go there.

Even before we came Andrea was doing a great job answering questions on Instagram. Andrea really made us feel welcome, excellent communicating and people skills!

We were served an excellent antipasto with beautiful handpicked ingredients. The wines that Andrea picked out for us were at a high stable level, all a pleasure to experience!

Later in the evening the chef Aspreno came by and even if we were full to the limit, the sandwiches he made us were devoured with pleasure and lust! Knowing what we know now, we urge everbody to go and try out this wonderfully crazy chefs sandwiches! The flavours were so brilliant! I have no doubt in my mind when I say that I had the best sandwich in my life there!

In the end we got to talk to the owner, Massimo, who owns another restaurant, Il Canto. And after some lovely conversation about wine, food and Bari we promised to visit him at his restaurant the next day!

Of course we could not leave La Staffa without buying some of their handpicked assortment of natural wines!

We absolutely LOVED it here - we were only in Bari for a few days and went twice we loved it so much! We discovered some really incredible wines, ate seriously delicious food (must try the Pappa al pomodoro), but what made the whole experience really top notch was Gabriele's amazing service, his clear passion for organic and natural wines and sharing that with his guests. We were about to take a short trip out of Bari. As a N.W.A. (Natural wine addict) you have to think in advance and buy some wines when you know you won’t have this option the next day.
