Il Sale — Restaurant in Bari

We found Il Sale after a small walk from our B&B. We were greeted VERY warmly and showed to a small table for 2. The hostess (maybe owners wife?) was incredibly gracious and could see we did not speak a lot of Italian. She was so nice! English menus were brought then we ordered with her and another waiter that spoke a little English. We had the shrimp fried tempura style which was awesome! Our dinner was a custom made dish; lobster over spaghettone in a red sauce with fresh tomatoes... WOW! Ambiance is an A+! Food fantastic. As a surprise the hostess brought us over a dessert plate full of chocolate and fruits and other Italian cookies. We were so stuffed! And yes; every table seemed to know the owners so definitely a family place but upscale looking. Kids playing on tablets, hanging on the front couch.. Loved it! If ever back we will...

First time in Bari, Italy and I was looking for an upscale seafood restaurant. Thanks to Google Maps, i found Il Sale. From the entrance to the check out, this place and staff know how to treat you. Menu can be seen on a single piece of paper but for sure you will enjoy what you get. Great and fast service, English spoken, staff and owner make you confortable, with fresh bread, and appetizers on their elegant and simple tables. Dishes are perfect size (I was starving) and well prepared. Single dessert (home made lemon sorbet with a full plate of fresh strawberry, dry ginger sweet, fresh almonds, milk and dark chocolate pieces) was OK. Lots of flavor and taste far this first...

One of the best experiences! Seafood is extremely fresh, seems that they took it directly from the sea right before serving it to you. Probably the best oysters that I have ever tried! Crude fish and seafood is served on the ice, carpaccio di scorfano was served with amazing yellow sauce of olive oil and lemon, a simple fish dorado has really impressed me with its taste and texture! Local sommelier served a wonderful white wine, enhancing the taste of the food. And finally, when I thought that it wouldn't be better, they served a dessert! Home made chocolate - with salty peanuts and with chilli pepper; mind blowing ginger, and fresh fruits🥰 Bari worth visiting at least...
