Gelateria Piccinni — Restaurant in Bari

Absolutely outstanding gelateria with high quality ingredients and tasty flavors at super reasonable prices. One of the best gelato places I've been to in recent years, which includes stops in other parts of Italy and Croatia. On the day I visited, I tried their 3 flavors for 3 euros (a great deal!) special and did the chocolate with rum, cheesecake (essentially yogurt and blueberries), and caffe colombiano. All three were quite flavor forward and you could detect the rum without it being overpowering. Incredible value. Next time I'm in Puglia I might make a special stop in Bari just to try more flavors because of how high the quality is. It is a very specjal place. When it comes to gelato that I had in Puglia, most of it was loads of sugar and a touch od taste. Here, the experience is quite the opposite - loads of flavor and a touch od sugar. I could really taste the ingredients: Rich pistacchio, and something as simple as milk (fior di latte) hits your taste buda like a hammer. If you are looking for something else than a fine, they have a choice od classic ice cream snacks, but upgraded. We all had a stale ice cream sandwich, still good, but, if you try it with fresh, crunchy biscotto, it makes all the difference....

We were for a week in Bari and came every evening to have ice cream. There is a great range of ice cream, sorbets (vegan), granitas (vegan) and also non-fruit based vegan ice creams pistachio, chocolate and hazelnut. Portions are generous and prices are low. The owner is super friendly and speaks English as well. I tried pistachio, chocolate, hazelnut, peach, strawberry, banana, biscuits, figs and stracciatella.
