Bar Margherita - Cucina & Vino — Restaurant in Bologna

We were wandering along the Porticoes down from The Sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca and had not realised the time and we were getting peckish for lunch. One thing to note in a lot of Italy a lot of restaurants/cafes (away from touristy spots) will close after lunch around 2pm and reopen later in the afternoon. So we were pretty much all out of luck of finding a lunch spot. Thankfully we wandered past this little bar and asked if they were still serving and we are so thrilled to have found it, the sage ravioli was outstanding and their special porcini tagletelli was moreish. The lady who served us said her English was not great but she spoke perfectly and we managed to exchange some conversation, we had a lovely little tale towards the back of the restraint and we were so well looked after. An accidental find but still one of my most memorable meals on our trip around...

Found the place by accident. Totally cool original "old school Italy" atmosphere, authentic and had a great vibe! Owners are great, friendly and welcoming. What's most important - super pet friendly, our dogs got even better service than us. Food was fantastic and really tasty, service was amazing. Charming owner, delicious food (we ate pasta, tortelloni and local red wine - recommended by the owner). It was way above expectations! Place is very cozy, air-conditioning inside, prices lower than on average and food quality high above the average. Strongly recommend if you are looking for tasty quisine.
