This fascinating establishment cleverly marries the roles of a wine shop and a wine bar, offering its patrons the unique opportunity to savour their purchased bottles right on the premises, at the store price.
Piazza Maggiore, the backdrop for Signorvino, is a bustling, vibrant square - the heart and soul of Bologna. Filled with awe-inspiring architecture such as the Basilica di San Petronio, and echoing with the city's rich history and cultural charm, the plaza provides a scenic vista from the wine shop's vantage point.

The design of the establishment effortlessly marries the modern with the traditional. Wooden wine racks stretch from floor to ceiling, while contemporary furnishings and ambient lighting create a convivial atmosphere. This fusion extends to the service, where knowledgeable staff offer advice with both depth of experience and a fresh, enthusiastic approach.
Beyond the wine, Signorvino boasts a delicious selection of traditional Italian delicacies. The small plates are ideal for sharing, offering a range of flavours that pair excellently with the wines. From fragrant cheeses and succulent cured meats to rich olive oils and balsamic vinegars, every bite is a tribute to Italy's rich gastronomic heritage.
Signorvino's concept of selling wines at the same price for both purchase and immediate consumption is truly unique. This allows you to explore their vast selection without the mark-up traditionally associated with restaurant wine lists, encouraging you to perhaps venture outside your comfort zone and sample something new.

Read morevery disappointing experience here. Dined here tonight (07/11) to celebrate a friends birthday and we were all shocked at the service. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio (approx €20-25) and we asked for a bottle of sweet wine in the same price range. They did not have the one we asked for, which was no problem, and the waiter then suggested another similar sweet wine that he recommended and we trusted. We were never told of the price and only saw on the bill that the bottle cost SEVENTY EURO. We were a small group of students here on Erasmus, and we do not have a whole lot of money to throw around. Why on earth would a group of 20 years olds want such an expensive bottle on a random tuesday night?? It blows my mind that rational thinking was not applied here, especially as the other bottle we ordered was one of the cheapest on the menu. We are not wine connoisseurs; it is all the same to us. We just wanted a nice glass of wine with our pasta, which was actually quite subpar. Also we asked for two bottles of water, which were not brought out. We were very disappointed with all of this, and just wanted to leave as soon as possible. We had also heard great things about the restaurant and it’s great location, so maybe it was just a bad night, but nevertheless I will not...
Read moreI randomly stopped here for Sunday lunch during my recent visit to Bologna.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for enjoying a bite or even a glass of wine after exploring the city. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, helping me find a table outside, even though the place was packed and I had no reservation.
The food was delicious, and even though I went for a simple dish - tagliata di pollo - the flavours were great, and the veggies grilled to perfection! The size was perfect, and I also loved how fresh and high-quality all the ingredients were. Another great thing was how quickly the food arrived, despite the amount of people that were seated at the time. It was only a few minutes’ worth of waiting.
Personally I don’t drink, but one of the highlights of this place is their extensive wine selection—whether you’re a wine aficionado or just looking to enjoy a great glass, there’s something for everyone, and you’re sure to find the best taste for you. They offer many regional wines, allowing you to truly experience the essence of Italy.
All in all, Signorvino provides an authentic and enjoyable dining experience in Bologna, perfect for a casual lunch even on the busiest of days. I’ll definitely be back on...
