We only went to one restaurant in Brescia but this one is definitely the best. We came on a Sunday and didn't have a reservation and were told there was no space (I highly recommend booking). The owner tried to find us a table at another restaurant before telling us we could have a table at the bar in 30 minutes, so we waited with a glass of wine, and I'm so glad we did!
The food was simple, but so tasty and hearty. Highlights were the wild boar ragu pasta and the typical Brescian stuffed pasta. We also had the cheese cuts as an appetizer and a good few glasses of Nebbiolo wine! With the quality and hospitality, I was expecting the bill to be over €100 for two of us but it came out at just over €50!
To finish things off, there was a lovely group of Scotland-obsessed-Italians at the table next to us who were letting us try their homemade deserts and we're having a great laugh.

Read moreI absolutely loved this place and would definitely come again! We were around 14 people and they were kind enough to host us around 10pm only calling 1 hour earlier. The manager was very friendly and offered us negroni shots since we had to wait just a little. And even though we were a big group, the food came very fast. And I was especially impressed by the fact that they remembered almost everyone’s order and put them accordingly in front of us without the need to be reminded who ordered which dish. This was a very nice detail for me. Additionally, I felt the genuine attention of the staff and they were very kind to make sure that all of us were enjoying. Our happiness made them happy too. We started with some aperitivo that included some very good types of polenta and plates of hams/salami etc. Everyone enjoyed their main dishes. You can order any type of meat or pasta, you won’t be disappointed. They also have white or red house wine options. We paid 25 euros each as 14 people and we had so...
Read moreI cannot really rate this restaurant (except on customer service and friendliness of the atmosphere) as we we were denied a seat on a quiet Sunday evening. That's not the problem - we did not have a booking. The problem is that we entered the restaurant, husband first and the waiter was in the process of showing us to a seat. Then he turned to my husband and asked how many people. My husband responded "two people" in English. The waiter then stopped his forward march, turned around and told us that the restaurant was full. It was clear that if we had been a larger party, the restaurant would not have been "full". Was it because we were only two and tourists as well? It's very difficult not to conclude that he was saving a table for (possible) larger group later on. But some waiters also presume that tourists are one time visitors who will not "spread the word". And this is why I'm Doing...
