Full vegan menu done right. In the heart of Cagliari, Cavò bistrot is a must for vegetarians and vegans (or anyone, really) visiting the city. We were hosted by their wonderful team (English speaking), very welcoming and smiling. The place itself is beautifully decorated. More on the “bohemian chic” side, with a relaxed atmosphere. The food and the drinks were excellent all around. We started with the fried mushrooms, and tried 3 of their dishes (spicy spaghetti, the egglplant “parmigiana” and the gnocchi). All were amazing, though I must admit the gnocchi with vegan cheese and pistochios was the star of the evening. (Matched with a great red wine, following the staff recommandations) We followed up with the veganisu and the brownie. For all chocolate lovers, the latter is a must! Its generously served and very tasty. We closed the evening with the homemade limoncello and the grappa, the cherry on the top. We really had a pleasant evening at Cavò and would definitely come again. Special thanks to the the staff for being so nice to us, we don’t see this everywhere. (One of the women of the staff brought us the complete tea collection of the restaurant, served on small plates so we could smell, just to make sure we choose the « perfect tea » for us) If you are looking for a great vegan restaurant in Cagliari, you should not look any further than Cavò: they have got you covered! I’m not Vegan but I highly recommend Cavo Bistrot restaurant for great quality food. The owner and head waiter was extremely polite with lots of charisma, making us feel very welcome, squeezing us onto the last available table outside. We ordered mushroom nuggets as a starter to share, I had the classic Spicey spaghetti and my partner had the Gnocchi for our main dishes. Having grown up in a restaurant and tasting many different foods and flavours over the years, I was very impressed with the starter, perfectly cooked deep fried mushrooms that came with 3 tasty sauces to dip them into. Excellent main dishes that were fulfilling enough for me as a meat eater that I didn’t miss it at all, when I asked if they had Parmesan to top the spaghetti, I was served vegan Parmesan which tasted almost identical to the real thing. For dessert we ordered half and half cheesecake (half salted caramel / half chocolate) to share, which also was excellent. To my further delight they had Japanese Roku Gin on the drinks menu, so I had a couple of those and my evening meal was complete.. Pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant is situated on the most vibrant street for bars and restaurants in Cagliari, so there was a wonderful atmosphere - highly recommended!

Cavó Bistrot completely blew me away. Tucked in a perfect location just a short stroll from both the port and the train station, this beautifully designed spot is a must-visit for anyone seeking thoughtful, flavourful vegan food in Sardinia. I enjoyed the most delicate, melt-in-your-mouth vegan gnocchi, paired perfectly with a selection of local Sardinian (and other!) wines. Every detail was considered — from the creative plating to the balance of flavours — and you could feel the passion behind each dish. To finish, the vegan tiramisù was nothing short of dreamy: light, rich, and a delicious twist on the classic. Honestly one of the best we’ve ever had. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, with stylish, modern decor that still feels warm and inviting. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, which added so much to the experience. For the quality, setting, and heart behind the food, Cavó Bistrot is incredible value. Whether you’re vegan or simply curious, this is a place that shows just how exciting plant-based dining can be. ✨ Highly recommended — a true Sardinian treasure! ✨

My partner and I had a wonderful experience dining at Cavo Bistrot, and we’re looking forward to going a second time this weekend!

The food was clearly made with local, wholesome ingredients. We had their bruschetta, the hummus platter, the cashew e Pepe and the Sardinian pasta. For drinks - the mirto and the limoncello spritzes, and the limoncello was made by the mum of one of the staff members! Very delicious drinks too, well blended, and we could taste all the components. Also huge portions for these.

Bruschetta - there was a lovely smokiness coming from the aubergine from the way they roasted it, something special that I haven’t had anywhere else.

Hummus platter - I thought there was too little hummus here, but it was tasty and fresh, and the thin Sardinian bread was crispy and ultra thin.

The pastas were absolutely our highlights!

Cashew e Pepe - well textured sauce, the cheese and pepper blend is done well, with a strong zing from the cheese and the spicyness and aroma of the black pepper. The pasta was cooked wonderfully al dente and it’s one I’d super happily go back for! One of the best cacio e pepe renditions I’ve ever had.

Sardinian pasta - the saffron sings through the pasta dough, and it’s what makes this dish exceptional. The sauce is also delicious, tomatoes are juicy and create an appetising sauce with the beyond sausage.

The staff was super friendly too! They showed us pictures of the whole menu, brought us warm bread and told us about the limoncello, and we had a fantastic time on the terrace relaxing and...
