Francuccio — Restaurant in Capri

Went here because of the great reviews and this has taught me to stop reading reviews! It wasn’t busy, just after the lunchtime rush and took a while to get a menu, and then around 45 minutes to be served our drinks and we were just on the point of giving up and leaving, staff were stood outside smoking and paying no attention to customers, whilst meanwhile new people arrived after us were served drinks and food! We kept trying to attract someone’s attention and finally managed it. My husband had a pizza which was nice enough, I had a pasta potato dish that was incredibly bland and a tiny portion, probably just as well as it was really not worth eating. Nobody came to ask if everything was ok with the meal. Perhaps a poor choice but that coupled with the extremely poor service made for an overall unpleasant experience. My meal was served about 10 minutes before my husbands turned up. And an extortionate price for the quality and portion size. The interior looked nice and location was nice. The staff pointed out to us upon payment that a tip wasn’t included. Giving a tip for having sat 45 minutes parched, desperately constantly trying to attract the staffs attention?! I went to this restaurant because of all the glowing reviews, but it turned out to be the worst pizza I had during my trip to Capri. The pizza was extremely oily, the tomato sauce lacked flavor. What makes it even more disappointing is that the reviews kept praising how kind and attentive the staff were, something I absolutely did not experience. Service felt careless rather than caring, and I couldn’t reconcile what I read online with what actually happened. Honestly, it makes me question how trustworthy those reviews are. Maybe they’re buying good ratings, because the reality doesn’t match at all. Considering everything, I’d rate this place a very generous 3 out of 5, but only because the meal was edible. If not for the inflated reviews, I might have said it was just okay. But with the hype and the fact that this was by far the most expensive pizza I had on the island, the disappointment was amplified. Definitely not worth the money, and I would not...

FRANCUCCIO, Frank Prisinzano’s restaurant in Capri, is outstanding!! It was our first and only stop in Capri. We loved it so much that we ate there throughout our stay. Every dish was utterly delicious, prepared with incredible love, detail, and authenticity.🍋💙
