Ristorante Augusto Capri — Restaurant in Capri

Awful!!! Do not recommend. Found some kind of food in my €10 coffee and the manager wouldn’t take it off the bill. We asked nicely and showed what was in it but she became very aggressive and unprofessional. She kept saying “the coffee is good. It’s the cream. It’s the cream.” Then started saying it’s the “inside of coffee” whatever that means. It was literally pink and the texture of raw chicken. She said she wouldn’t take it off the bill but then when walked by and saw me opening google reviews she yelled and said “now you really have to pay for it because she’s leaving a review.” and said she could make a new coffee which she hadn’t even offered before. We said no. Then proceeded to threaten us saying she’ll see my review and respond and that she has cameras everywhere like that’s going to stop us from writing about this awful experience. On top of that the whole meal was €70 and all we had was one entree shared between two people, two iced cappuccinos, and the focaccia that they offer you which apparently isn’t free. Can’t say this enough but avoid avoid avoid!!

UPDATE TO THE RESTAURANTS RESPONSE: Not sure what they’re talking about with us having 3 main courses, we only split the chicken and potatoes dish. We also told them multiple times we just didn’t want to pay for ONE COFFEE and was only offered a new drink after she looked on my phone and saw I was writing a review, not a single time before that. Never once did we say we weren’t going to pay for our entire bill. The manager also did raise her voice at us, argued, tried to get my friend to follow her back to the kitchen which was uncomfortable and my friend kept refusing, and the manager. We are not talking about the staff, they were very kind, this ONLY RELATES TO THE MANAGER. None of my review is false...

I HAVE BEEN PHYSICALLY ATTACKED AND ACCUSED OF STEALING BY A WAITRESS IN THIS RESTAURANT

We are a well travelled British couple and spent the day in Capri, visiting for the day from Sorrento. We arrived back at the Marina for our ferry early and decided to get something to eat to kill some time. There wasn’t many spaces in restaurants at the marina so sat at the first table we saw and I asked for menus whilst my partner went to the toilet. My partner returned and looked at the menu; she is quite a fussy vegetarian and there wasn’t any options for her so we informed the staff we wouldn’t be eating and went to politely leave. At that point, a waitress grabbed me by my arm and tried to frog march me back inside, calling me a thief and accusing me of stealing water and that I needed to pay the bill. She was shouting at me and it got that aggressive my partner started recording her. Being a British man in Italy I felt I couldn’t use too much force to get her off my arm as she continued to have a tight grip on my arm trying to push me inside the restaurant. She threatened to call the police and and this point was literally shoving me trying to get me inside. A colleague came over with a card machine with €2 on it telling us to pay for using the toilet. I realised that if the police did come, they were immediately going to side with the Italian waitress over the British tourist so reluctantly paid.

All of this for €2? If you had said to us you’ll have to pay €2 for using the toilet we would have happily done so over being threatened and assaulted.

Like others said a tourist trap begged for us to eat here, and space was very tight!! menu I admit very interesting!

we got of lf boat very hungry so we stopped and ate here, my husband got the fish, and I had a salad with four shrimp, I also asked for mozzarella. I was asked if I wanted bread, I said yes and I had a bottle water. my husband had a drink a limoncello spirtz which came in a big lemon when the bill came the fish was 69.00’and the total bill was 129.00 weird thing is when the girl click the totals on the credit card machine it said 159.00 my husband questioned it and she said oh you must of hit something. Like I said the food was good and at the start we were going to give them a tip, but I had to ask for ice not once but three times, after the third time of me not getting it I gave up!! Anyway as far as the bill the girl corrected it and then we noticed they charge you 4.00 a for a cover fee , so you charge 4.00 for a cover fee??to sit down to eat ?? I just paid 69.00 for a piece of cooked fish was I suppose to stand up and eat it? I won’t be eating there again. The whole port is a rip of charge you to sit down to drink or eat it’s weird to me.
