Lo Zodiaco is the first time that I felt racially profiled. But that doesn't take away from my fantastic experience everywhere else in Italy, so hope no one gets the wrong impression.
We had come back to the port (9pm) and wanted to eat, and this place looked nice! We stood outside nicely, and requested the menu from who seemed to be the person in charge. I got downright refused, and was told I could not be seated. As to why? He later said I needed a reservation.
No problem of course, but the restaurant (outdoor seating) wasn't even 40% occupied. I find if hard to believe that no space could be made for us. Still I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
After having refused us and barely given a good explanation he turned his back to us and walked away. Funnily enough a waiter had not seen this, and came to assist us and asked if we wanted to be seated. The head came rushing back and spoke in Italian, and again we couldn't be helped for some reason 🤔
We move to the side, across the road, and are deciding on where to go next. And what do you know! A new group arrives. When asked if they have a reservation they say "no", but suddenly now it's not a problem and they get...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stopped by this restaurant after nice day on Capri. This restaurant ruined the whole experience. My boyfriend placed his backpack in a chair in an effort to clear the space for a waiter. The waiter misunderstood the situation, and thought he placed the backpack on the chair because we were afraid that someone would take our belongings. Clearly offended, the waiter completely ignored us for the rest of our stay. He also told the rest of the crew about his experience... Having them all ignore us at the table. Feeling almost sick after this treatment, we wanted to leave the restaurant as soon as possible... However the rude waiters ignored our requests for the bill (we asked three different waiters), and we were eventually forced to take the initiative to go inside the restaurant and pay ourselves. In summary: I think this was the worst restaurant experience I...
Read moreI arrived to the restaurant with a group of four in the mid-afternoon. There were hardly any patrons in the restaurant but we desperately needed a snack. I was carrying a water bottle with me and set it down on the table, a gesture I would soon regret. A server raised her voice and instructed me to dispose of the bottle. She then violently slammed the bottle on the table. We reluctantly ordered four drinks and a pizza to share before being kicked out because we did not order enough; they insisted that we order at least one pizza per person. Uninviting, hostile, and adversarial — not exactly what you look for in...
