This bar is great. It's such a good find. We went for a hike from Taormina to Castelmola (took around 1.5 hours) and we popped into Bar Turrisi to have a well deserved cold one. The bar its self is just crazy. Everywhere you look there is just artistic painting of penises and when you realize at the start that everything you look at is a penis you get a shock as you don't expect it. After you adventure up to the second, third and fourth floor you soon realize that it isn't just penises placed in random spots, but a work of art. The penises are placed in every right spot. Making this whole bar a work of art. If you can get a seat at the top floor I would recommend it. The view and the peace is worth every step you 'hike' up. It is a great find and I would come back here for a few hours if I had the chance. Take in Mt. Etna and enjoy the sea.

Locals told us Castelmola and Bar Turrisi were MUST DOs and… yes, they were correct! From Castelmola there are unforgettable panoramic views of Taormina and Etna! A gorgeous small city with free parking nearby and a soon to be completed elevator up to the city made it an easy stop for lunch. Drinks and food were casual and fun on the top floor of the bar which had a unsurpassed view of the sea. Unbelievably gorgeous and fun experience. The bar owner has a great story of starting a decorating trend that made its mark on the gorgeous village—you must see for yourself!! Our favorite stop on the east coast of Sicily! Food was great!

September 2024: Visited twice in September 2024, and it was just as fantastic both times! We enjoyed delicious pizza, refreshing drinks, a delightful granita, and the most amazing passionfruit gelato. The service was attentive and friendly, even during some challenges on our first visit due to the water shortage in Castelmola. To top it all off, we were treated to complimentary almond wine—such a lovely touch! Highly recommend this spot! September 2022: What an interesting place (if you know, you know ;-). Lovely pizza and the best pistachio arrancino. Definitely worth a visit.

Yeah, the decor is humerous. It's a great attraction and I get the appeal. Sure there are some nice balconies with good views on to the square. However, I think the drinks are pretty expensive, and unlike everywhere else we've stopped for a drink at, they dont give you any nibbles. So more money for less. Also, when we came to pay we had to awkwardly hang around the bar till the guy bothered to serve us. Then he was kind of rude, just talking the money without looking at us while chatting some people up. Just meh - dont go out of your way to go here.

Awesome and very special place to visit in Castelmola, just a short trip up from Taormina. They serve home-made almond wine (must try), which goes well together with cantucci (almond biscuits). The views from the balcony are stunning. But what makes it really special is the 18+ decor spread out throughout the 4 floors of the building. I won’t go into details, just check out the photos here. :-) Definitely recommend to visit when in Taormina. We visited in mid April and it was rather relaxed, I can imagine it can get quite crowded in high season though.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar Turrisi which is located in the picturesque village of Castelmola, Sicily. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. They gave me almond wine for free! That was so lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor and the view from the balcony were amazing, making it a great experience overall. The prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend this bar for anyone in the area and I look forward to visiting again!
