The service & food was quite good; however, we ordered a bottle of Tignenello (price $180) and they didn't have any in stock, even though it was on the wine list. The waiter/manager said we have something that “ tastes” like Tignenello, Amasso a Sicilian wine. He brought it over and we tasted it and not to offend we said it was fine. It cost $20/bottle on vivino. It tasted nothing like Tignenello. He charged us 140$ for the bottle.
It was very disingenuous…!
If you didn't have the wine we preferred, please don’t say something tastes likes it, then charge us the same as the preferred bottle he didn’t have.
I can understand a Sicilian restauranteur desiring us to have a local Etna wine, but assuming your patrons can’t tell the difference and charge us the same as a higher price wine was quite disappointing. I kindly let the manager know that I certainly DID know the difference in...
Read moreI had an amazing cooking experience, followed by a fabulous lunch. I highly recommend their cooking lesson - a personal journey through the best produce the season has to offer. After a trip around town tasting some excellent food, I entered the kitchen where I got to see, smell and taste the ingredients and output of a professional Sicilian restaurant kitchen. It was so interesting, and a privilege, to see how a restaurant kitchen works and to get some advice on pairing flavours and ingredients to make beautiful dishes. The whole team were so generous with their knowledge, with lots of wine and food tasting. I certainly left with new inspiration for my own cooking. I then sat down to eat what I prepared which was delicious. The whole experience is great value for money considering the knowledge you get and the food and wine included. Loved...
Read moreMediocre food. Very touristy. We had reserved a table asking for a spot on the terrace with a view. Upon arrival we were told those tables were for groups of three or four and were sat further inside. Later a couple was sat at the table outside that we had requested. In addition, the white wine was served warm. The antipasti of mussels lacked flavor. I ordered the branzino which was fine. My boyfriend ordered Pasta aka Norma - east classic Sicilian. They served us the wrong pasta of ragu - we were understanding and waited while they made the correct one. Not worth the wait. At the end of the meal there was no discount or offer if limoncello or any sort of apology. Overly priced and...
