My husband and I wandered by this off-the-beaten-path bistro one evening on our way from Piazza Mazzini to the Benedictine Monastery. We wanted a light bite and with help from the two delightful young men running the place, we settled on aranchinetti (small round versions of the more traditional aranchini) and moderate servings of 2 antipasti options: marinated mushrooms and marinated cucumbers. The mushrooms were delicious. I’ve never had aranchini so don’t know how these rate, but they were happy to make us a mix of meat and meatless since I’m a vegetarian. What made the meal really special was how friendly and warm the hosts were. We had a fun time conversing via Google translate (they had time to do that because it was only 8pm so still quiet), though they do have a little English to get through basic ordering.

This place was definitely one of our favorite discoveries in Catania. Really cute patio with a view of the old Roman theater across the street, wonderful staff and fresh delicious food. We went twice and would have kept going if we could have stayed in Catania longer! The menu is a small handwritten piece of paper, which impressed us immediately (!). They obviously decide what they're cooking that day.... and cook it. Pretty sure they're closed Sunday and Monday. Highly recommended. We absolutely loved this place.

Fantastic food from Mattia and Riccardo, their hospitality is fantastic, the best we experienced here in Sicily. They made us feel at home and they catered to every need we had. The drinks are fantastic and the prices fantastic and we will travel from England just to come back here. This is the little gem of Catania but the Diamond of Sicily. You have done your fellow countrymen a great service.

We are Erasmus students here for six months, and we’ve discovered this beautiful spot beneath the mandarin trees. We love spending almost every day there, enjoying a coffee, having something to eat, and soaking up the atmosphere. The staff is super relaxed, incredibly nice, and genuinely friendly. We often have lovely conversations with them, and I can only highly recommend this place. The vibe is amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic—everything is stress-free and chill. Definitely go there and have a...
