My husband and I wandered by this off-the-beaten-path bistro one evening on our way from Piazza Mazzini to the Benedictine Monastery. We wanted a light bite and with help from the two delightful young men running the place, we settled on aranchinetti (small round versions of the more traditional aranchini) and moderate servings of 2 antipasti options: marinated mushrooms and marinated cucumbers. The mushrooms were delicious. I’ve never had aranchini so don’t know how these rate, but they were happy to make us a mix of meat and meatless since I’m a vegetarian. We went twice and would have kept going if we could have stayed in Catania longer! The menu is a small handwritten piece of paper, which impressed us immediately (!).
