Caffetteria Villaroel — Restaurant in Catania

Most horrible service in Catania. We waited for 30 min to find out how to order, then another 30 min to put the order, then when we wanted to get up and leave she quickly brought the drinks after in total waiting for 1.5h since sitting until we had some water on the table. We ordered one pinse per table. Again it took an eternity to bring. The waitress said she is alone and the place was completely full. It's really not her fault, she cannot do anything about it, but i don't want to support this kind of gastro where the manager lets one waitress at the peak lunch time when the place is packed. Also as a tourist I don't want to die of thirst at lunch time in the heat and also waste 2h of the day waiting instead...

We just had a little snack here that they advertised, but we were a bit disappointed. The food wasn’t overly fresh and didn’t seem up to par with other cafes in the area. We also noticed the servers running across the street to Spaghetti & Co, so I think they get some of their food from there (and Spaghetti & Co wasn’t very good either).

That being said, the atmosphere and service was great and we enjoyed the cocktails as well.

We just had tried this place because we are passing by. We ordered a “pinsa” 10 EU, a glass of wine 5 EU and a limoncello shot 4 EU, according with the menu cart we should pay 19 EU. We were billed 22 EU instead. Limoncello shot was increased 1 EU and the wine, 2 EU. The attendant explained that he decided himself to serve the best wine without telling us.
