This was my first trip to Catania from the US and a solo trip. So you can imagine how you have to adjust when arriving to a new city. I arrived very late and desperately needed food but it's hard because usually there is mostly Italian food filled with lots of gluten and dairy, which doesn't bode well for my sensitive stomach.
I happened to do a search for any gluten free options in the city but it was hard as most things were closing. Then I saw Easy and I came as fast as I could afraid that the kitchen was closing but then the chef - Alex - was so kind and asked me what I wanted even though they closed the kitchen minutes before. I told him to give me anything as I was starving and he made this AMAZING pasta and a wonderful plate of grilled vegetables. It was PERFECT.
Everything in the restaurant was gluten free and I had dinner while watching a wonderful show of jazz music as they have live music almost every night.
I have been back many many times and now the chef and everyone there has shown me nothing but joy and happiness. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is amazing, the service is incredible and the music and ambiance is unmatched.
I never leave reviews but this one warranted a really good one. This place made me feel so at home in Sicily and now I never want to leave. I would leave more than 5...
Read moreCool vibes! We were recommended this place Wednesday night for great live Jazz or other nights for live blues and live rock music.
This bar has a sensational selection of draught beer, and tasty light Italian pub fare. Great set up of the tables with a lovely outdoor vibe in Piazza Carlo Alberto.
The music was phenomenal. The show went well beyond our expectations.
We had listened to the GEMMA JAZZ 4tet. Giovanna Gemma is the former chorister to Mario Biondi, Alberto Alibrandi on piano, Stefano Ruscica on Drums and Claudio Ursino on Bass.
All my hardship and weariness fell off me and I could float unburdened in the merry world of Jazz. My favourites was “Sonny”, and a few others that I didn’t catch the name of. This jazz show was one of my most favourite Italian jazz bar experiences!
I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Catania. Very well priced and pleasant staff and the live bands are exceptionally...
Read moreVisiting Catania for the day with friends one of whom is coeliac. We researched restaurants and Easy came top. Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t so “Easy”. On arrival, the person hosting was outside having a cigarette with a friend and appeared a little put out to have to come away to seat us. They pointed to the QR code for the menu and left us to decide. Three chose chicken and chips, the other moussaka. Within a few minutes, the host returned to tell us there was no chicken available and should they just bring 1 moussaka? …we all wanted to eat so we decided to leave. Had the welcome been better we may have chosen other options. Shame, as the reviews here tell of a different...
