RAMEN BOY — Restaurant in Como

We recently had lunch at Ramen Boy, a spot we were excited to try given the high ratings online. The experience started on a high note with the lovely ambiance; the restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for a cozy meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the start.

Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the initial impression. We ordered a variety of dishes – curry, ramen, yakitori, and gyozas – and found most of them to be surprisingly bland. The curry was especially disappointing, lacking depth and any real flavor, and the chicken wasn’t as crispy as we had hoped. The ramen also fell flat, tasting quite plain and not delivering the satisfying richness we were expecting from a ramen spot.

The one highlight was the gyozas, which were flavorful and well-prepared. However, with only one standout dish, it was hard to understand the glowing reviews that led us there in the first place. The atmosphere and service were excellent, but ultimately, the food didn’t quite meet our...

Posto molto bello, tutto arredato a nuovo per richiamare un po’ la cultura otaku, vi sono quindi tante bellissime lampade di carta, action figure qui e lì , manga all’ entrata e addirittura si possono scrivere degli Ema da appendere. Peccato sia un ristorante ed è il cibo quello che conta… abbiamo aspettato tre quarti d’ora per 5 ramen e un ora e mezza per una porzione di gyoza che dovevano essere alla piastra ma sono arrivati al vapore anche se freddi e una porzione di karaage che più molli non potevano essere. Altro che la tipica croccantezza. Quando sono arrivati a prendere l’ordine su 8 piatti che abbiamo preso in 5 2 ci han detto che erano già finiti (il katsucurry è l’okonomiyaki) ma quello ci sta, il problema è che 3 ramen sono arrivati con delle topping aggiungi non richiesti… e uno delle persone con me, intollerante ai crostacei, ha trovato nel suo ramen una vongola. Lol. Cioè giusta una finita diosolosa perchè la. Ovviamente cercare di comunicare con i due camerieri è stato molto molto difficile tantè che abbiamo rinunciato anche noi a parlarci, un po’ per imbarazzo e un po’ per quieto vivere. Ramen estremamente blandi, sapevano di ben poco e la carne all’interno ancora meno. Stella all’occhiello, due al tavolo han preso la birra rising pale ale ed era leggermente scaduta. Da vedere la foto allegata perché fa sorridere. Insomma, se conoscete minimamente il sapore dei veri ramen giapponesi non andate sicuramente da loro, è il classico trappolone per i fanatici del Giappone. Due stelle perché non ho avuto problemi di stomaco mangiandolo (per ora)… misera...

A quaint little Japanese restaurant that has top quality food, really! It's amazing what they did to my tori karaage because it's incredibly flavorful up to the deepest trenches of the chicken 🥹 the lemon sauce is just right in terms of sweetness, consistency and all! I was taken aback by the true-to-theme-ness, especially seeing the cute metal teapot (see photos!) and the cups. A heartwarming Asian meal in Como if you're up for a treat, why not? Definitely coming back if I ever visit...
