Pizzeria Ristorante Donnarumma — Restaurant in Como

By far the worst experience I have ever had. We were a group of 5 and we had an appetiser and 5 pizzas. 3 of us did not finish the pizza and we asked for 3 boxes so we can take them with us. Mine specifically was almost all there as I divided it in 4 and ate only 1/4. The waiter (he was very polite) offered to take them in the kitchen so they can prepare them in the boxes. When he brought the 3 boxes to our surprise 2 of them did not have our pizzas there. We were shocked! In my box it should have an almost full pizza with all the toppings and instead it had leftovers from other people's pizzas that were missing the toppings and were different pieces. To top it of, the person responsible did not even come to our table to apologise but instead he sent the nice waiter to deal with the situation and offer a discount and a limoncello (shocking)! The person who is the owner or the responsible (I'm not sure maybe he is both) the whole night was around our table and after this happened he did not even come to apologise, not even when he brought the check, he said nothing, absolutely nothing not even an apology for the incident. I am disgusted by this behaviour, to serve people the leftovers of other people! This is a hygiene violation to say the least! I will never ever go back there and I will make sure I post this review on every site so that all people are aware and never dine there. I don't even want to think what else is going on in their kitchen after this. This kind of restaurants should not exist. Unacceptable...

5 stars for the pizza, one for the service. There were tables available but waiters were taking it easy to let people sit on them. I was glad that it was almost our turn to be seated (being visible pregnant) but then friends of the waiter arrived, skipped the line and seated before us. We managed to order quickly - at the same time the friends of the waiter. So they took both orders at the same time but at the time the others finished their pizza we didn't even get our water and 🍺. We asked what happened with our pizzas and the waiter explained that there was an error with the machine on which he was taking orders. This didn't make him care about noticing the chef to place our "new" order before all the people who ordered after us and slowly slowly everyone else was getting their pizzas but us (4 or 5 tablets). After we said that we will leave if the pizza don't arrive soon they decided to speed up and 7 minutes later we managed to eat. Normally if there is any inconvenience in Italy they will offer you something free - like a shot of limoncello or in my case being pregnant the coffee we ordered could have been complimentary but no. Pizzas at this restaurant (as most if other restaurants in Italy) are mostly vegetarian. we tried one Bufala(San Marzano tomato sauce, extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil and Mozzarella di Bufala), one Vegetariana (Fior D'Agerola cheese, fresh basil, roasted aubergines, courgettes and peppers and extra virgin olive oil) and one Pesto di Basilico(Fior D'Agerola cheese, basil pesto, yellow and red Datterini tomatoes, Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil). Generally speaking, dough/bread of all pizzas are very delicious and we found them to be very interesting and tasty😋 But the quality of whole pizza could be a little bit better. For example the Bufala pizza should have some basil on it(as it was mentioned in ingredients) but it had only one leaf of it! Or in “Vegetariana” it should have some eggplants on it, which it didn’t!
