My recent visit to Babi for breakfast left me with a range of impressions. To start on a positive note, the restaurant boasts a charming ambiance that immediately put me at ease. The décor is tasteful, and the warm lighting adds to the inviting atmosphere. Additionally, the service was exceptional; the staff was courteous, attentive, and always ready to assist.
However, my overall experience was tempered by a few notable shortcomings. One of the most significant issues was the portion sizes relative to the price. While I understand that quality often justifies a higher cost, I couldn't help but feel that the portions were on the smaller side. The prices, while not exorbitant, didn't seem to align with the quantity of food served. This aspect left me somewhat dissatisfied, as I expected a more substantial meal for the price.
Another major drawback was the coffee. It was a pivotal part of my breakfast experience, and unfortunately, it had no discernible taste. It lacked the robust flavor and richness that I look for in a good cup of coffee. Given that many diners start their day with coffee, this was a letdown.
Regarding the menu, there was a variety of options to choose from, which is a plus. However, the flavors of the dishes I tried did not quite meet my expectations. While they were decent, I was hoping for a more memorable culinary experience. The potential for improvement in this area is evident, as a slight adjustment in seasoning or preparation could make a significant difference.
In summary, Babi offers a pleasant environment and top-notch service, creating a positive first impression. However, there's room for improvement in terms of portion sizes, coffee quality, and the overall flavor profile of the dishes. With some adjustments, this restaurant has the potential to elevate its breakfast offerings to a higher level and provide a more satisfying dining experience...
Read moreCame here for breakfast so that’s what I’m reviewing - Very trendy and hip spot. They bring your coffee out on a rock slab - it feels very San Francisco/Manhattan like.
The reviews about no kitchen are incorrect, it seems they may have moved to another location a few doors down.
Food quality was 4/5. Eggs were good, bacon was crisp, pancakes were basic and mostly flavorless. Cappuccino had way too much milk. While I appreciate the trendy mugs it came in, that was more of an American latte than a cappuccino, so that was a disappointment.
Service is very slow. 2/5. Took appx an hour from arrival to food being served. There is only one waiter so I try to have a bit of patience, but that’s a little much. Waiter got my girlfriends order incorrect, but promptly had the eggs remade. He also took an order of a couple that arrived after us first, so I almost walked out at that point, but I was too hungry to track down something else.
Price was definitely too high for what the experience was. 2/5. 12 euro for a breakfast plate and 2.5 euro for a “cappuccino”. I’m from the SF area so I’m used to egregious prices, but this is not SF...

Read moreA nice and cozy cafe near the center of como. The seating is quite small to around 5 tables so if you plan to walk in you may have a problem. Better to call them before. The guys at the place were not very warm and friendly but just ok in receiving guests. The food was delivered almost after 45mins of waiting which was strange because we were just two and ordered just two plates. The pancakes were quite disappointing as they were quite small and thick and hard but the fruits and syrup were nice and complements the pancakes well. On the other hand the eggs sandwich was very delicious and worth the waiting time. The guy actually asked us after 40mins what our order was 😅 that was very strange and unpleasant. One is the best things is the ambience as the place was very well decorated space. The food wasn’t really the best part of this experience and was a bit over priced for what was offered. I recommend people to go for coffee or pastries or smoothies. Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend visiting this place to have a proper breakfast.
Surprisingly I found pancakes at the supermarket that are very very very similar to what they served here! So I wonder why it took 45mins to serve them? Did they had to go and get them from the...
