Comfortably the worst meal I have endured in my lifetime, and that's saying a lot considering my mum once accidentally put tinned dog food in a lasagna. I ordered a tomato & nduja pasta, a dish that any home cook with an hours worth of experience should be able to make blindfolded. What arrived was an orchestra of burnt onions, undercooked pasta, accompanied by an unusual stench that I can’t quite put my finger on. Oh, and the whole thing was buried under a mysterious mound of unevenly crumbled crustini breadcrumbs, which, frankly, I still can’t figure out the purpose of. Personally, would prefer not to have a crunchy biscuit with my tomato pasta. One of the other dishes served was what seemed like an out of date tinned Heinz had been slopped into a bowl on top of a raw sausage. I think I saw the sausage trying to escape at one point. At least the waiter laughed and agreed, stating he too thought the food “wasn’t very nice”.
To add to the worst hour of my life, the same trance song was blasted out on a loop, driving me to a slow and painful demise.

Read moreTourist trap on main walkway in beautiful Courmayer. I knew we were in trouble when the grissini were industrial. With three local bakeries nearby it is shameful a restaurant does not buy locally and buys from the industrial producer- the packaging shows it all. The Tomini appetizer was only presented well - it too was low quality. The pizza was tolerable. The first sign of a $ only minded restaurant in Italy is when there is no longer table cloths. Server was kind but he too not passionate or proud of his kitchen. Again this Courmayer not Las Vegas or Disney World. City of Courmayer should conduct authenticity audits. It hurts the city and Italy to not support the local artisans and chefs - don't be hijacked by the industrial producers like Ben E Keith in America or Sysco - I used to have a restaurant and remember how they showed me I could make twice as much money on a plate versus our...
Read moreOur first day in Courmayeur after a long day of hiking was on a Friday and it was hard to find anywhere to eat without a reservation. We ended up here and regretted it. We were sat at a 2 person table awkwardly close to the entrance were people would congragate around us. We were seated at 7pm and our food arrived at 8:30. We were on the patio where it was cold and rainy so waiting 1.5 hours for our food left us shivering in the cold. We asked serveral times about our food and were assured it was on its way. The food was not great, not even good. Went up to pay and had to wait for the bartender to wash glasses with his fingers (no soap) for 3 min before he helped 2 other people behind me first. We are quiet people and never complained but still joke at what was one of the worst dinning experinces we had in years. Go anywhere else unless you are stuck with...
