I almost gave it a 3 stars but decided on 4. The atmosphere is great. The servers and Maitre D’Hotel excellent and kind. The price and what you get for it, given the setting, is fair.
I personally enjoy the French food style. Here, I felt the food was either really good or really non memorable. And, in my opinion, for half the price, you can get 3 amazing courses in Lyon’s best restaurants such as Bouchon Tupin.
The shrimp wrapped in bacon was great. The trout tartare was itself great but I felt the other ingredients, the pistachio cracker, the mango ice cream and mango on top, did not work cohesively. It was pretty but not soulful. The risotto itself was good, and Parmesan would have been good but Parmigiano ice cream was not good together. Just not enough flavor in that ice cold preparation. The gnocchi was very good but we wish the truffle had more flavor. It tasted a bit bland. The fish was pretty but over salted. I sent it back. They said they tried it and thought it tasted fine, but I’ve had plenty of fish at restaurants and it was over-brined. Finally, the venison was amazing. A delicious dish. Overall, I can get much better and more consistent dishes in Lyon for similar or lower prices. Also, the server we had kept forgetting to refill our water. I filled it the first time and he ran over and said it was his job, but the rest of the night he kept forgetting. Adam is wonderful. Great guy. I would not return but I can understand why others would. For me, this was not consistent, and I would try other restaurants. If you come- get the...

The staff was kind and helpful, the service and the dinner were incredible. The sommelier has definitively amazing knowledge and skills that were unexpected and so much appreciated for the tasting and the food pairing. We had the duck, the ravioli, and the risotto, all amazing and well realize.
We were staying at the hotel as well, all service is great. I also review it if you want to read some more details, it's available on my Google reviews profile.
I highly recommend this restaurant, we experienced a place nearby in a 4 stars hotel as well named "BRASSERIE LA SAPINIERE", it was terrible service for the same price as this restaurant. It was far away as good as Ristorante Novecento.
If you are guessing where to go, don't hesitate!...
Read moreThe food was very good. I went for dinner last week with my wife and we were very happy. I think the wine list could be more focused on the excellent wines if the region but also the drinks were good. After going I remembered why I don't like dining in hotels: the atmosphere is odd, it seems you do not belong there almost. And the result is that we were asked to leave at 10.15 (our reservation was for 8.30 but had to wait 10 minutes to have our table ready), because they had to prepare the room for the breakfast. This, and the slightly sloppy service (they would take our plates away without asking if we were done or if we enjoy our dish) make it drop from...
