I was so excited to try this restaurant because it was ranked as one of the best restaurants in Courmayeur. When we arrived, the restaurant was full, to me it was a sign that is was going to be one of the best meals in this lovely town.

The very nice lady from Argentina greeted us and told us that the restaurant was full, she was going to ask if they could take our party of 4. The owner who was also bartending, taking orders and serving tables, said YES.

They sat us down, the very nice Argentinian lady put our silverware, placemats, napkins and glasses. It was very hot so we wanted to order drinks right away (it is not common to have A/C in restaurants in Italy, so we are not complaining about that). She said that unfortunately she wasn’t allowed to take orders because the owners take the orders in the restaurant (husband and wife). 20 minutes later the owner showed up to take our drinks orders, he said he was going to come back to take our food order, another long time passed, my husband asked him when he was passing by (he looked really swamped) if he could please take our food order because both of our kids were hungry. He yelled to him something in Italian and kept walking. Five minutes later he came to our table, took our orders in the biggest rush ever, taking the menus out of our hands in the most aggressive way. He left and we said, poor man, he is so busy, he doesn’t realize how he is treating his clients.

The buzz boy brought the bread to our table. We had no plates, I’d asked him if he could please bring us plates, butter, olive oil, salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar. Since they were so busy we chose to ask for everything at once. At that time the wife was delivering fruit bowls in the table next to us. She yelled to the buzz boy first and then to me. I was so upset, it was an abuse, even the guests from the table next to us looked so amazed at her unprofessional way to treat a customer. We stood up, told her that she was no one to yelled to me like that and we left. Both of my kids were in tears.

A block down the road we found another restaurant, Pizzeria Ristorante du Tunnel, it was perfect, the menu was fantastic, the service was impeccable, it was also PACKED, but on the contrary, we were treated with so much respect. The food was outstanding and without asking, they brought us the bread with plates, olive oil, salt and balsamic vinegar. I’d almost hugged the waiter. He couldn’t believe what just happened to us, he apologized for what happened in this town Courmayeur. Everyone else in this town have been so nice, helpful, respectful. I wanted to share this experience because there is NO WAY THAT THIS RESTAURANT CAN HAVE...

I normally do not waste my time writing bad reviews. I actually feel bad writing negative feedback, but this place really don’t want tourist money or care about your enjoyment. Like other reviewers that was treats poorly, I wish we had a different experience as time in Courmayeur was precious and short.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! We did not heed the advice of Hannah D and John F and suffered the same poor service and rudeness. It’s so terrible to spend so much time and money only wanting traditional food and expect to be treated kindly, yet only to be ignore and made to feel you are not welcomed. Tourist folks, if you don’t want to suffer rudeness and waste your money please do it eat here. They do not need, nor want your money. They only care about their local and Italian speaking customer.

We walked in and there was no one at the front desk. We waited while several servers passed by and both owners passed by us without any greeting. They saw us, but seems like they didn’t cared. This was the first bad sign. Then an Italian customer walked in and pushed passed us and was seated right away while we still were not greeted or acknowledged. We finally pulled a server asides and was seated in the corner. For 20 mins, no one came to our table to take orders or greet us, while the the table next to use had their main dish severed, desert served and check, before someone finally came to take our order. The food was average, nothing special. I’ve had better pizzas. The “mixed green” salad was pathetic. A small bowl of icebergs lettuce with carrot shaving and a few cuts of Roma tomato for $6 Euro. Really??? The final bill was wrong, they didn’t bring us water and charged for it. We told 2 servers and non of them listened and the last server had the audacity to check our glass to see if we drank water so she can charge us $3 Euro for the still water that they didn’t bring.

Dinner service took 2 hours, we ordered 2 pizzas, 1 mixed salad and 2 Spritz. Total was $45 Euro.

Why didn’t we walk out? We were too tied and hungry. The restaurant came as a recommendation from our hotel so we wanted to give them a chance. We should have walked out.

I’m interested to see how they or the town stay in business if there was no TMB or any other tourist. Spend your money at other establishments that treat you kindly and greet you...

After 65 kilometers walking in the Mountains, we stopped in Courmayeur and we found this restaurant. We order 2 different lunch menu and two beers. We were asked if we want water to drink witch we take it (after paying we checked that water was not included and we paid 3 Euro for a person, what was not fair because we took drinks so if some one are ordering drinks and waiter is proposing water without information that you have to pay for it … not cool.

Beers were perfekt. Good quality and really tasty. This same with first two dishes. Perfect!

Problems started when second dish came. First of all Service asked if they can change our Potato’s for purée. It was of course not a problem for us. Second after serving main dish I was not sure if it was not mistake because this dish was huge and we order 2 menu. I asked a waiter and he and owner told us that secound dish was not good so they throw away a dish and they gave us double portion from first menu. Unfortunately no one ask us about this. Dessert was just fine.

Owner is asking all the time guests if they are happy and he is controlling everything, but he should be careful. He has a very pungent smell. He should pay more attention to hygiene or...

Stopped here on a road trip after an arduous wait at the Mont Blanc tunnel and was concerned that we would be too late for lunch. However we were welcome with open arms! The older gentleman who I can only assume was the owner was very friendly even greeting our screaming baby with smiles and laughter. With baby finally settled, ambience in the restaurant was relaxed and chilled, a great spot for a quiet date? Finally not to be topped by the service and ambience alone the food was fantastic, we ordered the octopus pasta, bolognese, pork ribs and burrata. The octopus was the star in a faultless line up; a generous amount of octopus within a beef mince bolognese like sauce and pasta cooked perfectly. A happy surprise break from our travels will come again when I’m in the area. Practical yet useful side point, the baby changing facilities are clean and spacious. Thanks for a great experience !

PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL!! We went there with my wife and two kids for lunch. After the main dishes, we ordered two coffees for me and my wife. But they tried to charge for 6 coffees (6 times 2.00 euros) We simply told them it was miscalculated because sometimes it can happen. But they pretended not to understand. Then I realized that it could be their dirty tricks to earn the money. At the end, they subtracted only two coffees (2 times 2.00 euros = 4 euros) after keeping us waiting long. We were too tired to explain over. They might think we did not notice this overcharge. Please check your bill. We used to come here often before when my kids were babies. But it looks like owner has been changed since then. It is not as the same quality as it used to be. Once again, PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL!!

Food was not up to par for the price point. The homemade tagliatelle was overcooked, which ruined the texture. A very basic Italian no-no. Polenta with veal stew was okay, taste and texture quite flat and uninteresting. I'm not one for polenta so maybe something else would have been nicer. The tiramisu was sad too. It's big and there's generous cocoa powder, and the mascarpone is light and quite delicious. But theres barely any coffee or rum in the ladyfinger solution, so a mouthful is just chocolatey, creamy and sweet, but without the bitterness of the coffee or the kick of the rum. So a lot of missed potential in the dish. Come here for the vibes but if you expect great food, don't.
