Stopped here before flying out and tried to order just a side of chicken. The waitress asked if I’d wanted the Tagliata Pollo which comes with veggies, potatoes, and rice. I said no and that I’d only wanted a side of it. I didn’t realize that in Italy you can’t order just a side of chicken the same way you can potatoes or vegetables (which are options they offer on their menu). That also seemed to get lost in translation because it showed up as the entire meal on the receipt despite me only getting the chicken. I was directed to who I assume was a manager and she was very rude about the entire thing. She insisted that I had chosen to get the dish without everything and I tried to explain that if I had known that I would’ve been charged for the entire meal, I would’ve ordered it as is. I tried to explain that in my experience in the states, we are able to order sides of things at a lower cost and she said “we are not in America, we are in Italy,” which I obviously understood, I was just using my experience to explain why I was frustrated. Aside from that, the way she spoke to me was just condescending and snarky and in no way was she trying to find a solution. Eventually I was handed off to another server who tried to offer me a bottle of water or pastry as compensation but I had to leave to catch a flight. At the end of the day the chicken I was served was not worth the terrible customer service.

We have been traveling for several weeks through various European cities and were pleasantly surprised by our lunch at Farinella. Although it is located in the airport the service we received was outstanding. There was a line to get a table because of how popular the restaurant is. While waiting the hostess was working hard with various responsibilities. All the while she was mindful of our family and updated us. The minute the table opened up, she immediately came over to us and set the table. Although we don’t speak Italian it became clear that she felt bad about our having to wait and explained that she still wanted us to have a pleasant experience. Gian Marco then came over to assist with our order. He was professional, and kind and very thoughtful. We were cutting it close because our boarding time was fast approaching and we had spent quite a bit of time waiting to be seated. He made recommendations so that our food would be prepared promptly and he even checked our boarding tickets and gate numbers. Talk about going above and beyond. Great food, great service. Exceeded all expectations. Thank you very much to the staff at Farinella. Thank you to Gian Marco

Had a surprisingly great meal at the Italian restaurant in **Terminal 1, Level 2 of Leonardo da Vinci Airport (Rome Fiumicino)**. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced—far better than what you'd typically expect at an airport. I ordered the *Pizza Ricotta, Mortadella e Pistacchi*, and it was outstanding. Creamy ricotta, delicate mortadella, pistachio pesto, crushed pistachios, and a touch of lemon zest came together in a perfect balance of flavors. I paired the meal with a cold **Ichnusa Anima Sarda**, a local Sardinian beer, and also tried a classic **Heineken**—both complemented the pizza really well. The lady who served me was friendly and attentive, and **Mario** at the cash counter was kind and professional. Their service added a warm, personal touch to the whole experience. Highly recommended if you're passing through this terminal and looking for quality Italian food with great service!

I recently visited your restaurant at Fiumicino Airport with my mother and sister. We were looking forward to enjoying a meal together, but unfortunately, we had a confusing and frustrating experience.

My sister and I went to place our order at the counter, assuming we could then sit down at a table to eat. However, one of the staff members informed us that we were not allowed to sit unless we ordered directly from the table with a server. She explained that there are two different systems, one for takeaway orders at the counter, and one for table service, even though it’s all the same restaurant.

We found this very unclear and frustrating, especially since there were no visible signs explaining the difference in service or seating rules. It would have been helpful to know beforehand that ordering at the counter meant we couldn’t sit at a table, as we would have happily waited to be seated and ordered properly.

Thank God for the coffee or else it would be 1...
