Terrible experience — disrespectful service and unacceptable behaviour. We had a very disappointing experience at at this location. We have been treated poorly and felt disrespected. 1. The food was below average and the wait time was extremely long. 2. We were given the wrong pizza, and when we pointed it out, the staff responded with, “It’s still pizza, just eat it.” 3. One staff member even shouted at my aunt, saying, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we are perfect here? But we are not, we’re just working here.” That level of disrespect was shocking. We’ve never been treated so poorly at any restaurant. They eventually brought the correct order, but not before making a scene and embarrassing us in front of other guests — without offering a single apology. When I asked to speak to the manager, they suddenly claimed not to speak English and completely ignored me. This behavior is unacceptable. To Sofia Loren restaurant management: please train your staff properly. No one deserves to be treated like this. You’ve lost our trust — and our business.

1 star - would give less if possible... Welcome to La Pizza di Sophia, where time stands still and orders vanish into the void! One friend got her pizza (miracle!), the other’s salad is still MIA, and my tiramisu is apparently aging in an oak barrel somewhere. I did get a coffee though—in a cup so filthy it looked like a relic from Pompeii. If you're into chaos, confusion, and culinary disappointment, this place is a masterpiece. Otherwise, run. ‐---------- Plot twist! The salad did arrive—hours later, like a rare celestial event. That makes two miracles in one visit. As for my tiramisu? Never showed up. Maybe it’s being handcrafted by monks in the Alps. But the real punchline? A 2.50€ “service” charge per person. For what? Performance art? Because if this was service, then my espresso (also 2.50€) deserved a refund just for being part of it. Disorganized, overpriced, and unintentionally hilarious. Eating here felt like paying for a bad joke—twice.

Had a meal here after a long day in Rome. The restaurant itself and the decor and atmosphere are really nice, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the prices, considering it is an airport were reasonable. The pizzas were tasty, with a fresh, well cooked base and a decent amount of good tomato and cheese, the additional Gorgonzola on my pizza was okay although not overly generous. My wife had a Caesar salad which was below par, the cheese was rubbery (my wife generously said “young”) and the tomatoes were past their best (it was 21.30 when we ate but they were not great), the Caesar dressing, which wasn’t great came in a small bowl on the side so the talk of dressing the salad correctly was left to my wife. The beer was good and the coffee was excellent. We didn’t try the desserts but they looked good. Overall I’d come here again, but the salads could do with improvement if you want to get 5 stars next time.

The staff is everything but friendly. We waited 5-10 minutes to be seated (2 persons), which is OK because it looked busy. Then it took 15 minutes to have a waiter to come and take our order. Just two pizza's and 2 drinks (coke zero & water). After ordering it took 20 minutes to get our drinks and even longer to receive our pizza's.

The staff looked unorganized. The kitchen was working fast to get all the pizza's out in time but we saw them just getting cold on the counter because the waiters did not react on the kitchen ringing the bell. The waiters were walking around a lot but it didn't look like they were doing much, walking past tables which were full of plates to take away, walking past the counter full of pizza's without taking them away, standing behind the bar with multiple people on their phones, chitchatting between co-workers. This doesn't make your service any faster nor better.

Furthermore, a smile is free.. none of the waiters were friendly, it looked like they didn't even want to be there.

During our waitingtime (which was obviously long) we overheard an argument going on in the kitchen, afterwards the kitchenstaff was throwing stuff around making a lot of noise. We all get that sometimes an argument happens and things get heated, but with a room/space full of customers and the pizza oven/pizza kitchen being an open space please keep in mind to stay professional and take these things elsewhere. So customers do not need to witness this nor hear all the loud noises.

The pizza's themselves were ok, but not good/amazing. They were kind of sloppy in the middle, the outside crust was good. We've had much better pizza's before. Would not recommend.

When a restaurant is located in an international airport you'd expect the staff to be OK with speaking English. We all get it's not someones first language but the English from the waiters was very much below average which makes it even harder to communicate.

Overall I think management could do better when all the waiters get one specific job and not everyone just doing whatever the want or in this case...

TLDR version: TERRIBLE FOOD, EVEN MORE TERRIBLE SERVICE. LONG WAITS. PICK SOMEWHERE ELSE TO EAT!!!!

We were seated after 20 minutes without menus. 20 minutes later, 3 other tables were seated around us, and began taking orders while we still not received menus. After I finally attracted the attention of a waitress, someone finally came by with menus. 5 minutes to relieve appetizers. 40 minutes to receive a pasta dish. 30 minutes to get the water to take back the dish.

Food: Ordered the special appetizer, Mozzarella and mezzo pasta with zuchinni and shrimp. The appetizers were edible, but the pasta was terrible. The pasta and shrimp was overcooked, crumbling in my mouth while the sauce was watery and bland. We sent it back. It took the waiter 30 minutes to come back around. Probably actively ignoring us.

Service: They were terrible. All of them. The waitress busing tables was miserable. Our waiter was unattentive and did he best to ignore us. Worse of all, someone at the bar said "you guys are really annoying" in Italian to us. Little did he know... MY WIFE SPEAKS ITALIAN! She preceded to inform him about their terrible service and left.

Best case scenario, everyone hates their job here and it shows in the food and service.

Worse case, we were treated this way because they hate Americans and/or are racist as we did nothing to illicit this type of treatment.

Unfortunately, as elsewhere at Rome's tired, overcrowded airport, I was treated so rudely at this place it would make Sophia Loren bow her head down in shame. It starts with mismanagement and rudeness. Apparently there is a "rule" that in order to be seated you have to enter in one area of the restaurant only -- well guess what, it's a busy airport, and it's not North Korea and people are free to have a look first. That's what I did, and it wasn't crowded, so I sat down at a table. A mean and nasty employee saw me and instead of being a human being and offering me a kind word and a menu, she practically tossed me out of the restaurant. I was already seated, several tables were not occupied, and after a 12 hour flight I was, surprise! exhausted AF - even if not, I should really have to go outside the restaurant to wait to come back in again? No. The pizzas might be passable, but that kind of miserable attitude is a national disgrace. Symptom of management that doesn't know what they are doing. Sadly, I ran into this stronsalike attitude all over the Rome airport. But here it was rude and condescending to the extreme. You treat customers like that, basta la vista baby -- you're in the wrong business. That employee should be fired. Do not give this place...
