One of the three Venchi chocolate stores at Rome Fiumicino airport (this one is the newest at T3 D Gates, while there is another one in the middle of T1 pier B gates and another at T3 new gates E (extra Schenghen) on the ground floor before the new pier E. I haven't tried this one specifically but the other two (I am writing a review for this one as I have taken photos of this one), but my experience of the different Venchi stores including those in town is that the quality and the service is equivalent and pretty standard. The best products out here for me are 1) the chocolates (small) where you find an outstanding variety in particular for dark chocolates of various blend and origin and 2) the Suprema Cocoa, Hazelnut and Olive oil extra virgin Cream. This is simply outstanding in my view and relatively "healthy" (I take it usually for breakfast and for me is not particularly sweet and the olive oil is a guarantee). You should take the XV (Extra virgin) one if you want the best as there is a variety of different creams. You also have a very good ice cream, mostly cream flavors (not fruit), and it is quite good though not the best in Rome or Italy but one in the top 15-20 in town maybe . The stores are also well designed and what strikes at the T3 one is the chocolate "fountain". Just make sure you take with you a small or big cream and a few chocolates before you leave and take off and you...
Read moreOkay, firstly I should mention that Venchi is perfect! I ordered 5 times from different branches of them. However, my last order from them when going back to London was extremely humiliating which is due to one of the staff in this specific branch.
I have tried a variety of their astonishing flavors for an icecream and this I thought it would be good to order a shake with my favorite flavors that I experienced during my previous 5 orders from their different branches in Rome.
What happened is that the staff was shocked by my ordered combination and laughs and looked at others for mocking me (not even dares to look at me and laugh about why I am ordering such combination).
She didn't stopped this, she tried this look and humiliating laugh several times. I was totally okay if she looked at me and joke around but not mocking by looking others. Who are you? A 4 years old girl?
I'm totally okay if staff in tourist cities act angrily or frustrated because of huge load of work and it is understandable but this is unacceptable and a very childish reaction by a grown mature staff at the very amazing Venchi! I'm not pouring ketchup on pizza or other things to disrespect the Italian culture so such reaction that I faced is really disappointing.
Thank you Venchi for your amazing experience and your unique style! But please consider this experience as well for training...
Read moreReally Poor service.
I bought a regular cone for 8 Euros at venchi Rome FCO Airport store on September 3rd, including three flavors, raspberry crumble decorated cone, chocolate at the bottom, and cream on the top. When it came to choosing flavors, met a very bad waiter, Edoardo.
He was very impatient and didn't smile when choosing the ice cream flavor. First, he got my ice cream flavor wrong and was very impatient after I reminded him; then he forgot my cream top, and finally he didn't give me the chocolate on top either. The most unbelievable thing was that the creamy topping fell on the counter after being given to me due to his ice cream being in such bad shape! He didn't show a trace of apology or smile, and even the spoon for eating ice cream was handed to me by his colleague. In the end, I found out that my ice cream also didn't have the chocolate on the bottom and my cranberry crumble was mistakenly made of hazelnut crumble! How incredible! I didn’t get any thing I want! No cream top, no chocolate top, no raspberry crumble, no chocolate bottom, no beautiful ice cream, but I got really bad service!!!
Roman ice cream has always been very famous, and venchi's chocolate image is also very good. I was furious at this treatment as I was about to leave Rome! This not only lowers your corporate image, but also insults the image of...
