Binomio provided a hearty dining experience, strongly proven by two visits. During my first visit, I looked for grappa before going to bed. Staff members helped me learn and try different grappa, followed by a warm conversation, which I always appreciate beyond the taste of the drink.
The most significant was my next visit for lunch with my family. We had pasta dishes: pici pasta with tomato sauce, tagliatelle with shrimp tartare, and gelato and affogato as dessert.
Both Pici and Tagliatelle were a blast. The fat pici pasta was cooked to have a pleasantly firm taste at its center, and the tomato and Lodigiano cheese sauce was stimulating with every bite, but not too rich. Tagliatelle is what we often have as fresh pasta in the U.S.; however, it was a whole new story with garlic oil sauce (aglio e olio) and shrimp tartare. It was neither hot nor cold, but right at the right temperature to enjoy raw shrimp and warm pasta.
A kind server filled our bread basket twice, and I was glad to have a Tuscan flatbread that was nicely bubbled to bake and left very fine powders of flour wafting when snapped. We essentially had another meal by savoring all the remaining sauce with the bread.
Speaking of the affogato, it made my wife happy with espresso poured over a chocolate sphere sitting on gelato. It may sound similar to what we have seen on Instagram or TikTok for viral video feeds of such desserts. There was more to it than that. The affogato had a garnish of currant berries and Graham cookie-like stuffings, all of which gave a unique combination of tastes.
We finished dessert past a typical lunch hour. One of the staff members was working on flowers and wild plants on many big and small vases from a distance. We all agree that it was our best decision to visit this restaurant for our last hours...
Read moreWow! I cannot think of anything to improve the experience we had! We were tired from a day of travel and decided to just go to the hotel restaurant not expecting much. However, the service, food, and atmosphere were all phenomenal.
Both of our servers took great care of us throughout the meal and also spoke perfect English. The vibe was very modern, clean, and welcoming.
The food I would describe as modern Italian but more importantly I’d describe it as great. First, they had a selection of 4 different breads, all of which were hard to resist. We shared the arancini to start. I’ve had lots of arancini but never truffle arancini and they were tasty. Then we got the sea bream and raviolo, both of which were perfectly executed and beautifully plated. We finished with the lingotto dessert which was a delicious chocolate hazelnut bar.
This restaurant far exceeds the expectation one would have of a “hotel restaurant” and the staff from the kitchen to servers clearly know what they’re doing here. It is worth the walk from wherever you are in Florence for...
Read moreOne of THE BEST Restaurants in Florence. So many options for vegetarians. I stayed at ihg and this restaurant is located in the hotel. Being a restaurant in the hotel I had my doubts but boy was I glad to be wrong. The service, ambience and food is just so good it’s unreal. The chef there is really amazing, if you are in Florence, def give this restaurant a try. I was sad to have tried this restaurant on our last night, had I tried this earlier, I wouldn’t have ate anywhere else. Everything we ordered had like an interesting twist on it, and plating of the food itself was so beautifully done. It is a bit pricey but you won’t regret eating here. It’s definitely worth it. I highly recommend it.
P.S. please dine in, for room service they have a different menu and I don’t think it’s coming from this restaurant, the food in room service is...
